Do women with enlarged uterus need treatment?

Do women with enlarged uterus need treatment?

Women are easily affected and harmed by some reproductive diseases, and common uterine hypertrophy is one of them. Women should certainly pay attention to the treatment of uterine hypertrophy. Although it is a type of chronic cervicitis, if it is serious, it still needs to be solved through treatment.

1. Cervical hypertrophy is a type of chronic cervicitis. Cervical hypertrophy is due to the long-term stimulation of chronic inflammation, cervical tissue bleeding, edema, glandular and stroma hyperplasia, and there may also be cysts formed by mucus retention deep in the glands, causing the cervix to hypertrophy to varying degrees. Cervical hypertrophy is often clinically manifested as increased and purulent vaginal discharge, accompanied by pain in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral region, or symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating.

2. Simple cervical hypertrophy generally does not require treatment. If accompanied by symptoms such as cervical erosion or abnormal leucorrhea, anti-inflammatory and repair treatments should be carried out at the same time. When accompanied by symptoms, mild cases can generally be treated with temporary medication, and attention should be paid to local hygiene and sexual hygiene. For moderate or above cases, physical therapy can be considered.

3. Traditional treatment methods for cervical hypertrophy:

1. Electric ironing: Use the electric iron head to touch the enlarged surface of the cervix to solidify the tissue and form a scab. The scab will begin to fall off after about two weeks. It usually takes 6 to 8 weeks for the wound to heal, which is a long time. Scars may form after healing, and the cervix is often narrowed due to scar contraction.

2. Cryotherapy: Use rapid cooling equipment to freeze and necrotize diseased tissue. Clinical treatment is often difficult to be thorough, requiring multiple endoscopic removal of residual lesions or re-treatment, resulting in repeated attacks and long-term treatment.

3. Drug treatment: In most cases, it can only improve the condition and only treat the symptoms but not the root cause. For simple cervical hypertrophy, local cervical medication can provide temporary relief, but systemic medication is not worth the cost.

4. Laser treatment: Pregnant women, patients with various vaginitis, patients with acute pelvic inflammatory disease, patients with excessive and frequent menstruation, and patients with systemic diseases should not use laser treatment. It will also affect fertility. After treatment, the cervix will become inelastic and easily tear during childbirth, so it is not suitable for women who have not given birth.
