How to massage breast lumps? Be sure to master the correct technique!

As we all know, when lumps appear in women's breasts, they can be relieved through massage. This method is indeed very effective, but experts strongly remind everyone not to massage casually. You must understand the correct technique before massage.

1. Do not rub the hard lumps on the breasts

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that induration is caused by transverse collaterals (referring to local cords, tendons and other lesions that appear along the course of the meridians of the limbs) that hinder the circulation of qi and blood, causing meridian blockage. If the meridians are blocked, on the one hand, it will cause symptoms along their routes and in their vicinity; on the other hand, it will also cause problems for the internal organs connected to them. Therefore, finding and rubbing the nodules is indeed a good way to maintain health, but there are two types of nodules: one is caused by strain of meridians and tendons. Such nodules are harder in texture and often appear around the muscle attachment points of joints and bones. Some also appear in bursae, fascia, ligaments, fibrous tubes, etc.; the other is caused by deficiency of both qi and blood. Such nodules are softer in texture and the location of appearance is not fixed.

2. It should be noted that people should never confuse nodules with benign tumors on the body surface, such as some sebaceous cysts, lipomas, fibroadenomas, hemangiomas, neurofibromas and thyroid tumors. The feel is almost the same as ordinary nodules. If they are repeatedly rubbed, it may aggravate the condition. Similar conditions include popliteal cysts, breast hyperplasia, and breast pain before and after menstruation. Therefore, when you cannot determine what a nodule is, it is best to go to the hospital for treatment.

3. Don’t press the pain points that hurt even if you don’t press them

From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, "finding the pain point" is looking for the "Ashi point". "Ashi Point" was proposed by Sun Simiao, a medical scientist in the Tang Dynasty. It is also called "Unfixed Point" or "Tianying Point" in traditional Chinese medicine. According to the saying "Pain is the point of transmission" in Huangdi Neijing, it specifically refers to the optimal stimulation point with a non-fixed location when treating diseases. Since the "Ashi Point" can accurately respond to and treat diseases, it is often used by doctors in clinical practice, such as treating cervical spondylosis, periarthritis of the shoulder, etc.

4. However, the pain after pressing is sometimes caused by pathology and sometimes it is a normal physiological reaction. The former causes obvious pain and severe stimulation; the latter is much milder, so everyone should pay attention to the difference. If a person feels discomfort or pain in a certain area of the internal organs or a certain joint without any massage, he should go to the hospital for a check-up. Never massage the painful area. In the event of acute injuries such as fractures, muscle strains, and bruises, do not touch the painful points to avoid aggravating the condition. Skin diseases, subcutaneous congestion, swelling in certain parts of the body, etc. can also cause pain when touched. In this case, do not rub or press the area.
