IUD insertion is a contraceptive measure taken in our country. In fact, flower viewing is very effective in preventing pregnancy and it does not bring much impact on the body. However, there are some things to pay attention to when inserting an IUD. So how long should you wait before you can have sex after the IUD is inserted? Generally speaking, the best time to insert an IUD is mainly the following: immediate surgery after delivery; placement 42 days after delivery; placement more than three months after delivery; surgery at the same time as a caesarean section or six months after the surgery if the condition is normal. Normal women undergo surgery three to seven days after their menstruation ends. The doctor recommended that you should not have sexual intercourse for 3 days before having an IUD inserted. So, what should you pay attention to after having an IUD inserted? 1. It is strictly forbidden to participate in heavy physical labor within one week after the IUD is inserted. 2. Sexual intercourse is prohibited within three weeks (about 21 days) after the IUD is inserted. 3. Avoid underwater work and jumping exercises, such as track and field sports, water sports, and fast-paced dancing within five weeks. 4. Please note that you should take full rest within 3 days after the IUD is inserted, and it is best to rest in bed. 5. Avoid bathing in a tub within 4 weeks to prevent vaginal infection. However, showers and sponge baths are available. 6. Pay attention to the cleanliness of the vulva to prevent infection. 7. Pay close attention to whether the ring falls off during menstruation or bowel movements within six months. It is best to go to the hospital for an X-ray observation of the ring once a year. 8. Pay attention to menstrual regularity and seek treatment from a gynecologist if necessary. 9. Pay attention to nutrition and eat more iron-containing foods to prevent anemia caused by excessive menstrual blood. 10. It is normal to experience lower abdominal discomfort within 3-6 months after IUD insertion. 11. If you still experience a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen, back pain, abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, or menstrual blood volume that is twice the normal amount after 7 months of IUD insertion, you should see a doctor. If there is no improvement, the IUD should be removed and other contraceptive methods should be used instead. |
