What are the dangers of vaginitis in young women and how to prevent it

Don’t think that vaginitis only occurs in adult women. In fact, girls can also experience it. Vaginitis in young girls is also a common reproductive disease. If the disease is not discovered and treated in time, it may cause inflammation of the affected area.

The main symptoms are itching of the vulva and vagina and increased vaginal discharge. Infants and young children cannot express their symptoms correctly, so they often scratch the vulva with their fingers, which further spreads the infection through their fingers and scratches. The mucous membranes of the vulva, urethral orifice, and vaginal orifice are congested and edematous, with purulent secretions. However, it is also possible that the child is neglected by parents during the acute phase, or because the symptoms are mild, adhesion of the labia minora may occur after the acute phase. When adhesion occurs, small holes are left above or below, and urine flows out of the small holes. Vaginal foreign bodies can cause excessive vaginal discharge, which may be bloody, purulent, and have a foul odor. Vaginitis caused by pinworms causes severe itching of the vulva and anus, and a large amount of thin, yellow, purulent discharge from the vagina.

How to prevent vaginal inflammation in children

In order to prevent the occurrence of candidal vaginitis in young girls, parents must pay attention to the cleanliness of the children's vulva.

① Clean the vulva every day;

② Change underwear every day;

③ After defecation, be sure to wipe from front to back to avoid contamination of the vulva by feces;

④ When parents suffer from candidal vaginitis, washing utensils (bathtub, towels, bath towels, etc.) should be separated from children to avoid cross infection;

⑤ When the child has an infection in other parts of the body, do not use antibiotics indiscriminately, or follow the doctor's advice, and the medication time should not be too long. Avoid bacterial imbalance (if antibiotics are used for a long time, it will cause bacterial imbalance);

⑥ For children with diabetes (changes in urine acidity and alkalinity can also lead to candidal vaginitis), parents should pay attention and actively treat them to reduce the occurrence of candidal vaginitis.
