What is the cause of vaginitis in young women and how to prevent it

Vaginitis in young girls is a common reproductive system disease, but many girls do not understand it, and their parents do not know about it either, which can easily cause inflammation in the affected area. The cause of vaginitis in young girls is mostly due to external stimulation.

What is vaginal inflammation in young girls?

Vaginitis in young girls can cause pain and itching of the vulva due to irritation from a large amount of purulent secretions, which can cause the child to cry or scratch the vulva with his hands. So, what is vaginitis in young girls? Common pathogens of vulvovaginitis in young girls include Staphylococcus, Streptococcus and Escherichia coli, etc. Trichomonas or Candida can also cause infection.

The pathogen can be transmitted through the clothing, bathtub, hands, etc. of sick mothers, childcare workers or kindergarten children; it can also be caused by poor hygiene, unclean vulva, frequent contamination by feces or direct contact with dirt. In addition, injury or scratching of the vulva, especially when there is pinworm infection, can cause inflammation. In addition, it can also be caused by accidentally placing foreign objects in the vagina.

When examining young girls with vaginitis, it is found that the vulva and clitoris are red and swollen, and there may be ulcers on the surface. The mucosa of the urethral and vaginal openings are congested and edematous, adhesions can be seen on the labia minora, and purulent secretions flow out of the vagina. Vaginal secretions can be taken for smear examination or sent for culture to look for pathogens, and attention should be paid to whether there are foreign objects in the vagina. Vaginitis in young girls often coexists with vulvovaginitis. Because young girls have poorly developed vulva, lack of estrogen, and low resistance of the vaginal epithelium, they are susceptible to vaginitis.

How to prevent vaginitis in young girls?

To prevent vaginitis in young girls, parents must start with it. Normally, the vulva of young girls should be kept clean and hygienic, water tools should be used by one person only, and underwear should not be washed together. To keep the vulva clean, dry and reduce friction, drip the original medicine corresponding to the pathogen into the vagina. If there is any foreign object, it must be removed. In addition, you can take diethylstilbestrol orally at the same time. Be careful not to use too much diethylstilbestrol to avoid causing endometrial hyperplasia, which may cause vaginal bleeding due to shedding after stopping the drug.
