What is salpingography?

Generally speaking, hysterosalpingography is a common examination method used to detect whether the fallopian tubes are unobstructed, or where the blockage is. As we all know, if the fallopian tube is blocked, women will not be able to ovulate normally.

Hysterosalpingography is an X-ray hysterosalpingography that injects contrast agent into the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes via a catheter, uses an X-ray diagnostic device to perform X-ray fluoroscopy and filming, and determines whether the fallopian tubes are unobstructed, the location of obstruction, and the morphology of the uterine cavity based on the contrast agent's appearance in the fallopian tubes and pelvic cavity.

What is salpingography? Hysterosalpingography has a high diagnosis rate and is currently the gold standard for understanding the patency of the fallopian tubes, the degree of patency, and the specific location of blockage. Its advantages are as follows:

1) High accuracy: With the help of professional doctors’ skilled operation and the use of digital X-ray machines, doctors can observe the conditions of relevant parts, display all soft tissues and activities, and diagnose relevant internal functions clearly and accurately.

2) Wide scope of application: Hysterosalpingography can be used to diagnose fallopian tube obstruction, primary or secondary infertility, abnormal uterine bleeding, patients with reproductive system tumors, uterine malformations, uterine septum adhesions, foreign body obstruction, etc.

3) Safe and without side effects: Under the operation of experienced professional doctors, hysterosalpingography has almost no damage, no sequelae or complications, and no side effects.

4) Therapeutic effect: Hysterosalpingography is not only a detection method, but also has a therapeutic effect on some infertility diseases.
