During menstruation, it is not suitable to eat too salty food, and soda and green tea are not suitable for drinking.

1. Soda

Many women who like to drink carbonated beverages will experience fatigue and lack of energy during their menstrual period, which is a sign of iron deficiency.

Because soda and other beverages mostly contain phosphates, they react chemically with iron in the body, making it difficult to absorb the iron. In addition, drinking too much soda will neutralize the sodium bicarbonate in the soda with gastric juice, reducing the digestive ability and bactericidal effect of gastric acid and affecting appetite.

2. Too salty food

If women eat too much salty food before menstruation, the salt and water storage in the body will increase, making them prone to excitement and irritability. In addition, the amount of progesterone in the body increases during menstruation, which can also make them prone to edema and headaches. If you start eating a low-salt diet 10 days before your period, you won't experience the above symptoms.

During menstruation, you should eat light, plain, nutritious food.

3. Green tea

Green tea contains more than 30% tannic acid, which easily combines with iron ions in the intestine to produce precipitation, hindering the intestinal mucosa's absorption of iron ions; it can cause breast pain, anxiety, irritability and emotional instability, while also consuming vitamin B stored in the body and destroying carbohydrate metabolism.

At the same time, the caffeine content in strong tea is high, which stimulates the nerves and cardiovascular system, and can easily cause dysmenorrhea, delayed menstruation and excessive menstrual bleeding. At the same time, the tannic acid in strong tea can hinder the absorption of iron and cause iron deficiency anemia.

4. Crabs

Crabs are very cool in nature and can clear away heat, cool blood and relieve blood stasis. Women should avoid eating raw, cold foods during menstruation, especially those who suffer from cold dysmenorrhea.
