Leucorrhea plays a very important role in women's health. When there is an abnormality in the body, the leucorrhea will also change. If a woman suffers from vaginitis or cervical erosion, the leucorrhea will change. The symptoms of abnormal leucorrhea are introduced below.

1) Colorless and transparent leucorrhea: It is difficult to distinguish from normal vaginal secretions. The amount of secretion increases. It is common in cervical erosion and ovarian dysfunction, which is mainly caused by estrogen deficiency after menopause. The vagina gradually shrinks and becomes thinner, and the number of lactobacilli decreases. Symptoms include watery and foul-smelling discharge or the use of drugs such as estrogen.

2) Milky white discharge and curd-like leucorrhea: This is a type of leucorrhea unique to candidal infection, also known as candidal vaginitis, and is often accompanied by vulvar itching or burning pain.

3) Purulent leucorrhea: caused by purulent bacterial infection, more common in patients with senile vaginitis, foreign bodies in the vagina, chronic cervicitis, endometritis and pyometra. If the vaginal discharge is yellow, pus-like and foamy, and if there is vulvar itching, "Trichomonas vaginitis" should be considered.

4) Bloody leucorrhea: If bleeding occurs during sexual contact, do not rule out the possibility of a malignant tumor. Most cases may involve severe cervical erosion, cervical polyps, cervical cancer, etc., so be alert.

5) Watery leucorrhea: This is often caused by necrosis or degeneration of diseased tissue, such as submucosal uterine fibroids protruding into the vagina.
