When is the safe period for women? Do you know how to calculate it?

The female safe period is one of the stages of the female menstrual cycle. This stage is the best stage for couples to prevent pregnancy. Of course, this does not mean that it is completely safe and reliable. So how do we define the safe period?

1. When is the safe period

From the perspective of contraception, each menstrual cycle of a woman can be divided into the menstrual period, ovulation period and safe period. Generally speaking, the ovaries of women of normal childbearing age release only one egg per month. The egg can survive for 1-2 days after being released, and the sperm can survive in the female reproductive tract for 2-3 days. The fertilization ability is mostly within 24 hours after ovulation. After 2-3 days, the sperm loses the ability to combine with the egg. Therefore, if you have sex 2-3 days before ovulation and 1-2 days after ovulation, you may get pregnant. This period is called the fertile period or the dangerous period. A woman's ovulation date is generally about 14 days before the next menstrual period.

To be on the safe side, we call the 10 days including the 5 days before and 4 days after ovulation the ovulation period, and the rest of the time outside the menstrual cycle the safe period. The safe period is divided into the safe period before ovulation and the safe period after ovulation. The period from the end of menstruation to the day before ovulation is the safe period before ovulation. From the first day after the end of ovulation to the day before the next menstrual cramp is the safe period after ovulation.

2. Which days before and after menstruation are safe periods?

The safe period refers to the period from the end of the last ovulation period to the next ovulation period. Generally speaking, if a woman has a normal menstrual cycle of 28 days, the period from 7 days before the first day of menstruation to 8 days after the first day of menstruation is the safe period. The safe period is divided into the safe period before ovulation and the safe period after ovulation. The period from the end of menstruation to the day before ovulation is the safe period before ovulation. From the first day after the end of ovulation to the day before the next menstrual cramp is the safe period after ovulation. The safe period after ovulation is safer than the safe period before ovulation. This is because some women sometimes affected by environmental changes and mood swings affect the advance of ovulation, thus before the safe period of ovulation will be shortened.

The 7 days before menstruation and the 8 days after menstruation are the safe period for adult women, which is a calculation method used by most people for contraception. In addition to the calendar method that uses days to calculate, there are also the basal body temperature method and the secretion observation method. However, the safe period is not absolutely safe. Sometimes women ovulate earlier or later, and the judgment of the safe period becomes invalid at this time.
