Women, take note! The presence of inflammation can be determined by the cleanliness of the vagina

Vaginal cleanliness refers to observing vaginal secretions under a microscope to determine whether there is vaginal inflammation, which is of vital importance for women to prevent and treat gynecological diseases. It can be divided into four levels, and different levels indicate the health status of female vaginal secretions. So what exactly is going on?

Criteria for determining vaginal cleanliness:

In degree I, vaginal bacilli are predominant and a large number of epithelial cells can be seen;

Grade II has some vaginal bacilli, epithelial cells, some pus cells and miscellaneous bacteria;

Grade III: only a small amount of vaginal bacilli and epithelial cells are seen, but there are a large number of pus cells and other bacteria;

There are no vaginal bacilli under the IV degree microscope, and it is almost entirely pus cells and a large number of miscellaneous bacteria.

Cleanliness levels I to II are normal, while levels III to IV are abnormal. Most of the time, it is likely to be vaginitis. At the same time, pathogens such as bacteria, fungi or Trichomonas can often be found. When the ovaries are insufficient and estrogen levels are reduced, the vaginal epithelium proliferates poorly, glycogen decreases, and there are fewer vaginal bacteria, making it easy to be infected by miscellaneous bacteria, which can also deteriorate the cleanliness of the vagina.

Clinical significance:

Examination of vaginal secretions can determine whether the vagina is inflamed and can further diagnose the cause of the inflammation. When the cleanliness reaches level III or IV, in most cases it can be diagnosed as vaginal inflammation, such as bacterial vaginitis, Trichomonas vaginitis, candidal vaginitis, etc., providing a direct basis for the treatment of inflammation. Simple increased uncleanliness is often seen in nonspecific vaginitis. If vaginal Trichomonas is found during the examination, it can be diagnosed as Trichomonas vaginitis or Trichomonas infection. When vaginal fungi are found, it can be used as a basis for the diagnosis of candidal vaginitis. In addition, vaginal smears can be examined after special staining to reveal gonococci, Staphylococci, Escherichia coli, Streptococci, Bacillus subtilis, diphtheroids, etc., providing a basis for diagnosing related diseases.
