Do you know the difference between breast nodules and fibroids?

Breast nodules and fibroids are both common diseases among women. However, because many female friends do not know much about them, it is difficult to distinguish between them, which leads to failure to receive timely treatment and delay in the treatment of the disease. So what are the specific differences between breast nodules and fibroids?

(I) Breast fibroids

Breast fibroadenoma is the most common benign breast tumor and can occur unilaterally or bilaterally. They are generally round or oval, and large ones may be lobed. Common symptoms of breast fibroadenomas are:

1. Lumps: Most breast lumps are discovered accidentally. 2/3 of the lumps are 1 to 3 cm in size, and some are larger than 10 cm, and the largest can reach 24 cm. The lesions are mostly located on the upper outside of the breast, mostly solitary, a few are multiple, round or oval in shape, with clear boundaries, smooth surface, toughness, good mobility, and no adhesion to the epidermis and pectoral muscles.

2. Pain: Most of them are painless lumps, and only 14% have mild pain, which is paroxysmal or occasional or stimulated during menstruation.

3. Nipple: There is clear discharge, but it is rare, accounting for about 0.75%.

4. Axillary lymph nodes: not swollen.

(ii) Breast nodules

Breast nodules are structural degenerative lesions of breast tissue ducts and lobules and progressive growth of connective tissue. The main cause of the disease is endocrine hormone imbalance. Common symptoms are:

1. Breast pain and breast lumps, and in some cases nipple discharge.

2. Some patients have nipple discharge, which is mostly cool, colorless and serous. If the discharge is yellow or bloody and the amount is large, it may be pathological and should be taken seriously, and you should go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment in time.

3. Some patients with breast hyperplasia also have systemic symptoms such as bitter taste in the mouth, rib distension, chest tightness, anorexia, and menstrual disorders.
