Which one has higher nutritional value, milk powder or milk?

In essence, there is no big difference in their nutritional value, but each has its own characteristics. Except for not containing cellulose, milk contains almost all the nutrients needed by the human body, and is a nutritious food that is easy to digest and absorb. It is worth mentioning that milk has a high calcium content and its utilization rate is also high, making it an excellent source of natural calcium. Therefore, it is recommended to eat dairy products every day.

Milk powder is made from fresh milk that has been sterilized, dehydrated and dried into powder. After fresh milk is heated, the protein clots become small, soft, and easy to digest and absorb. It is also sterilized and less likely to cause allergies. Only volatile fat, sugar and vitamins are slightly reduced. Compared with fresh milk, the biggest advantage of milk powder is that it is easy to transport and store. Instant milk powder is quick to prepare and is particularly convenient. When it is diluted into liquid milk, its nutritional content is similar to that of fresh milk.

Yogurt is made by heating and sterilizing fresh milk, then inoculating it with acidophilus lactic acid bacteria, culturing it in an environment of about 30°C, and fermenting it for 4 to 6 hours. Yogurt is rich in nutrients, easy to digest and absorb, and can stimulate gastric acid secretion. Lactic acid bacteria reproduce in the intestines, which can inhibit the reproduction of some putrefactive bacteria, adjust the intestinal flora, and prevent putrefactive amines from having adverse effects on the human body. In addition, most of the lactose in milk is fermented into lactic acid, so people with lactose intolerance are less likely to experience abdominal pain and diarrhea. Therefore, yogurt is a food suitable for people with poor digestive tract function, infants and the elderly.

There are many different types of powdered milk, including “regular” powdered milk and specially formulated nutritional powdered milk. In recent years, the quality and types of domestic milk powder have changed greatly. The phenomenon of full-fat sweetened milk powder dominating the market has changed, and formula milk powder suitable for the nutritional needs of different groups of people has become the mainstream. This type of milk powder is specially fortified with multiple nutrients to meet the different nutritional needs of every family member at all ages. In addition, other special nutrients can be further strengthened in milk powder, such as: DHA for enhancing brain potential and vision development, choline necessary for cognitive development, biotin for promoting the development of the nervous system, dietary fiber that is beneficial to the digestive system, etc. During the processing of milk powder, most nutrients can be retained, including protein, minerals and most vitamins. If no large amount of sugar is added, the nutritional value of milk powder is no lower than that of liquid milk. In a dry state, the nutrients in milk powder can be preserved for a long time, and its shelf life is longer than that of boxed milk.
