What are the symptoms of low blood pressure?

Hypotension is an extremely common disease in life, and this disease has a great impact on human health and life. If it is not prevented and treated in time, it may even cause myocardial infarction, cerebral stroke and other diseases. Therefore, female friends must pay attention to it. But what are the specific symptoms of low blood pressure?

Symptoms of low blood pressure

(1) Fatigue and weakness: Especially in the morning, patients often feel listless and weak in the limbs. The symptoms may improve after a nap or rest, but they feel weak again in the afternoon or evening. This feeling of fatigue is not commensurate with the physical energy consumed by the patient's actual work or activities, that is, this fatigue is not always caused by overexertion. This fatigue may be caused by excessive and uncoordinated muscle contractions due to nervous system dysfunction, resulting in inappropriate muscle exertion.

(2) Dizziness: In patients with hypotension, headache may be the only complaint. The headache is often more obvious after strenuous mental or physical activities. The nature and severity of the headache vary. It is often manifested as dull pain in the temporoparietal or suboccipital areas, or it may be severe throbbing pain or numbing pain. Dizziness can be mild or severe. In mild cases, the patient may experience black spots in the eyes; in severe cases, the patient may become unconscious or even fall to the ground. It often occurs when there is a sudden change, especially when standing up suddenly from a squatting position. In addition, it is also prone to occur under static and overloaded working conditions. Headache and dizziness may be related to low blood pressure leading to cerebral hypoperfusion.

(3) Pain or discomfort in the precordial area: Patients with hypotension may experience pain and discomfort in the precordial area, which may occur not only during physical labor or intense mental labor, but also when they are at rest, and may even cause seizures. This is especially common in patients over 40 years old. This situation is not only seen in patients with hypotension and coronary heart disease, but may also be due to low blood pressure itself leading to insufficient coronary blood supply, causing myocardial hypoxia and ischemia and producing the above symptoms.

(4) Neurological dysfunction: may manifest as mental depression, memory loss, sleep disorders, etc. Autonomic dysfunction can manifest as excessive sweating, pale skin or mild cyanosis, hot and cold sensations, a crawling sensation, numbness in the hands and feet, etc.

(5) Phenomenon of endocrine dysfunction: mainly manifested as a deficiency of substances such as adrenaline and norepinephrine, which are reduced and declined in some patients with hypotension.

(6) Others: May manifest as weakness, abdominal discomfort, indigestion, increased or decreased blood volume, decreased resistance and susceptibility to infection. It can also cause coughing coma and urinary coma.

Precautions

The diagnosis of primary hypotension is mainly based on the arterial blood pressure measurement reaching the hypotension standard, excluding secondary hypotension and physiological hypotension. The diagnosis can be made based on the above clinical manifestations.
