Gynecologists remind: Women should not have these bad habits!

Every female friend has many criteria for gynecologists, such as being kind, punctual, objective in diagnosis and having rich professional knowledge. However, gynecologists also want women to follow some rules. American media recently summarized the habits that gynecologists hope their patients will give up.

1. Believe everything you read online

Always googling your symptoms? Be cautious at this time. Doing some preliminary research on reputable medical websites like the Mayo Clinic and the Cleveland Clinic is a good start, but the most accurate diagnosis can only be made by visiting a doctor. Dr. Katherine Taber, director of the Women's Health Center at Northwestern Hospital in Maryland, said: "I have experienced countless self-diagnostic errors in my practice, such as mistaking acne for herpes, rashes for breast cancer, and even normal fatigue for HIV infection."

2. Wearing sweaty sportswear

Due to time constraints, many women will eat dinner or do other chores immediately after exercising without changing out of their sweat-soaked sportswear in time. Dr. Taber believes that women should remove sweaty clothing immediately because yeast can grow in warm, moist environments and cause infection. In fact, yeast infections, itching, redness, swelling, and vaginitis are common gynecological complaints. Dr. Taber recommends that women change into 100% cotton underwear after exercise, as it has the best breathability and sweat-wicking properties.

3. Enduring a painful sex life

If you fear sex more than you look forward to it because it always hurts. If this is the case, you should see a gynecologist immediately. Michelle German, director of obstetrics and gynecology at Mary Hospital in Baltimore, believes that pain during sexual intercourse is caused by a variety of possible reasons, including vaginal infection, constipation, uterine fibroids, endometriosis and ovarian cysts. Only gynecologists can determine the cause.
