What is uterine fibroids and cervical cysts?

In life, many female friends are prone to gynecological diseases due to various reasons. Uterine fibroids and cervical cysts are one of the gynecological diseases of women. However, people may not know much about this disease. In fact, this disease is the same as cervical erosion and needs timely treatment to avoid worsening of the situation. So what is the matter with uterine fibroids and cervical cysts?

Multiple cervical nabothian cysts are also a common disease among women. It is a common type of chronic cervicitis. The incidence rate is higher in married women. Everyone should pay attention to such diseases, conduct gynecological examinations in time, and carry out some scientific treatments.

Multiple cervical nabothian cysts are a rare disease that is easily overlooked clinically. It can be divided into congenital and acquired uterine cysts. The former originates from the mesonephric duct and paramesonephric duct, and mostly occurs in the posterior wall or fundus of the uterus; the latter are mostly secondary to benign diseases or develop from the interstitial cells of the serosa, including cystic degeneration of uterine fibroids, cystic adenomyoma, cervical retention cysts and uterine serosa cysts.

Multiple cervical nabothian cysts are a type of chronic cervicitis and a common gynecological disease. Cervical cysts, also known as nabothian gland cysts, are caused by cervical erosion. During the healing process, the secretions in the glands cannot flow out, and the new squamous epithelium overproliferates and blocks the cervical gland ducts. They are generally small and scattered, protruding on the surface of the cervix, bluish-white in color, and retained in the glands to form cysts of varying sizes. Women with cervical cysts will mainly experience increased vaginal discharge, which is mucopurulent. The irritation of vaginal discharge can cause vulvar itching and burning sensation, and may also experience symptoms such as intermenstrual bleeding and bleeding after sexual intercourse.

During the examination, you can see multiple bluish-white vesicles of varying sizes (not purple) protruding from the surface of the cervix. They contain mucus. The small ones are as big as rice grains, and the large ones are as big as corn kernels. Some can grow very large, protruding from the surface of the cervix and even reaching the vaginal opening. The roots are connected to the cervix by a pedicle, and are often accompanied by cervical hypertrophy. Cervical cyst is a manifestation of chronic cervicitis. Cervical gland cyst, also known as Nathian gland cyst, is a cyst caused by cervical erosion in the healing process, which prevents the secretions in the gland from flowing out. The excessive proliferation of new squamous epithelium blocks the cervical gland duct. Cervical cysts are generally small and scattered, protruding on the surface of the cervix, bluish-white in color, and retained in the gland to form cysts of varying sizes. If secondary infection occurs, small yellow cysts may appear, which are not tumors. Cervical glandular cysts appear as multiple bluish-white vesicles that protrude from the surface of the cervix and contain colorless jelly-like substances. If infected, the vesicles are mostly white or light yellow in appearance. In chronic cervicitis, the cervical glands and surrounding tissues proliferate. When the gland duct is squeezed by the surrounding tissue and the gland opening is blocked, the secretions in the gland cannot flow out and are retained inside, causing the gland cavity to expand and form cystic tumors of varying sizes, called "cervical gland retention cysts", also known as Nabot cysts. The mucus it contains is often clear but may be turbid and purulent due to concurrent infection. The cysts are usually small and scattered and may protrude from the surface of the cervix.

Some cervical cysts can grow very large, protruding from the surface of the cervix and even reaching the vaginal opening. The root is connected to the cervix by a pedicle and is often accompanied by cervical hypertrophy. During the examination, you can see multiple bluish-white vesicles (not purple) of varying sizes protruding from the surface of the cervix. They contain mucus, some as big as rice grains and some as big as corn kernels.

1. The signs of cervical cysts are bulging at the fundus or posterior wall of the uterus, with a local cystic sensation. It can be divided into three types: subserosal, intramural and submucosal. If it is a pedunculated submucosal cyst, it can sometimes protrude outside the cervical os. Pathological examination of cervical cysts shows that the cyst wall originating from the mesonephric duct is mostly composed of columnar or stratified squamous epithelium. The cyst wall originating from the paramesonephric duct is mostly composed of ciliated columnar epithelium.

2. Symptoms Congenital uterine cysts generally have no obvious subjective symptoms, and sometimes a lump can be felt in the lower abdomen.

3. The age of onset occurs between 25 and 52 years old, with an average age of 36 years old.

The above is an introduction to what uterine fibroids and cervical cysts are. If you unfortunately suffer from this type of disease, don’t worry too much. It can be treated. Female friends should pay attention to personal hygiene and do some gynecological examinations regularly, so that if some gynecological diseases are found, they can be treated in time.
