What are the differences between ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids?

Ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids are two completely different diseases. Although both are gynecological diseases, in fact, uterine fibroids have a wider range. First of all, the symptoms between the two are different. Ovarian cysts cause symptoms such as frequent urination and constipation. Note that there are no symptoms of painful urination or urgency. Some people can feel a lump in their lower abdomen in the morning. It is obvious that ovarian cysts have symptoms, but many people with uterine fibroids do not have any symptoms.

1. The names are different.

The TCM name for ovarian cysts is: Changtan;

The TCM name for uterine fibroids: stone mass;

2. The pathologies are different.

Ovarian cyst disease is in the Qi level, and is caused by the degeneration of ovarian tissue.

Uterine fibroids are in the blood and grow in the uterine wall or on the edge of the uterus.

3. The inner essence is different.

Uterine fibroids are solid hematosarcomas; ovarian cysts are watery vesicles.

4. The touch is different.

Both uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts may cause a swollen abdomen, resembling pregnancy. However, ovarian cysts can be pushed away by hand, but uterine fibroids cannot be pushed away.

5. Whether it causes pain or not.

Uterine fibroids generally cause abdominal pain and severe pain.

Ovarian cysts generally do not cause abdominal pain.

In addition, the hazards of these two diseases are also different. Ovarian cysts obviously belong to a broad range, which means that people of all ages may get the disease. What’s more important is that the malignant transformation rate of ovarian cysts is very high. It is one of the malignant tumors that threaten life, so in comparison, the hazards of uterine fibroids are smaller.
