What causes knee pain after childbirth?

What is the reason for knee pain after childbirth? Many women are now saying that

I didn't have any knee pain before giving birth, but I don't know why I had knee pain after giving birth. If you have knee pain after giving birth, many people start to wonder if it's because they caught a cold during the confinement period. Because of the unclear factors, it can't be treated reasonably. So what exactly is the reason for knee pain after giving birth?

If women experience severe limb soreness and numbness during the postpartum period, it is called "postpartum body pain", or "postpartum joint pain", also known as "postpartum gout". The characteristics are postpartum limb soreness, numbness and heaviness, without local redness, swelling or burning. It should be clinically differentiated from rheumatic fever. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that this disease is caused by postpartum deficiency of qi and blood. Although it is caused by external evil, treatment should focus on regulating qi and blood. Clinically it can be divided into:

1. Blood deficiency type: symptoms include joint pain all over the body, limb soreness and numbness, dizziness and palpitations, pale red tongue with little coating, and thin and weak pulse. The treatment should be to invigorate Qi and nourish blood, warm the meridians and dredge the collaterals.

2. Wind-cold type: symptoms include pain in joints all over the body; difficulty in flexion and extension, or pain in no fixed location, or severe pain, like being pricked by a needle, or swelling, numbness and heaviness in the body, difficulty walking, which is relieved by heat, pale tongue, thin white fur, and a thready and slow pulse. The treatment is suitable for nourishing blood, dispelling wind, dispersing cold and removing dampness.

3. Kidney deficiency type: symptoms include postpartum back pain, leg and foot fatigue, or heel pain, pale red tongue, thin coating, and deep and fine pulse. The treatment is suitable for nourishing the kidney, strengthening the waist, and strengthening the tendons and bones.

If you have knee pain after giving birth, you must first clarify whether it is caused by these reasons. If the knee pain is caused by these reasons, timely treatment and care are the best for the knees. Knee pain is often caused by cold, so it is important to keep warm during this period. You can choose a hot water bottle to apply heat to the knees.
