I believe everyone knows that whether menstruation is normal has a direct impact on women's fertility. However, in many infertility cases, we can still see that some people's menstruation is normal. So what is the reason for this? Will I still have normal menstruation even if I don’t ovulate? This is a problem that many women are very troubled by, so let me give you a detailed introduction below. Normal menstruation refers to regular, cyclical uterine bleeding. Along with this bleeding, there should be maturation of ovarian follicles, discharge of eggs and formation of corpus luteum in the ovaries, and changes in the endometrium from proliferation to secretion. It is regulated by female hormones secreted by the cerebral cortex, hypothalamus, pituitary gland and ovaries. Having a normal menstrual cycle means there is nothing wrong with these systems. There are generally two types of menstruation: menstruation with ovulation and menstruation without ovulation. Therefore, only menstruation with ovulation has the ability to conceive. We know that after women reach puberty, under the interaction of the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, and ovaries, the eggs in the ovaries gradually develop, mature, ovulate, and secrete female hormones, which have a cyclical effect on the uterus and other reproductive tracts. Under this influence, the endometrium undergoes a series of progressive changes, including endometrial thickening, increased blood vessels, glandular secretion, vascular rupture and bleeding, and endometrial shedding, which eventually manifests as periodic vaginal bleeding, which is menstruation. If the egg released from the ovary in the middle of the menstrual period combines with the sperm, the fertilized egg will move into the uterine cavity at a time when the endometrium is thickening, rich in blood vessels and nutrients, which is conducive to the implantation of the fertilized egg. If there is no fertilization, the endometrium will be shed when the menstruation comes and the next menstrual cycle will begin. This is why some infertile women have menstruation but no ovulation. This may be because the egg itself has degenerated before it is fully fertilized, or although it is mature it cannot be discharged from the ovary. Both of these situations indicate that the ovarian ovulation function is abnormal. However, the endometrium can still shed and bleed under the influence of hormones, but conception is not possible. I believe that after reading the above content, everyone has their own understanding. Even if you have menstruation, it does not mean that ovulation has occurred, because in medicine there is a kind of menstruation called anovulatory menstruation. That is to say, even if you have menstruation, it does not mean that ovulation has occurred. If you are preparing for pregnancy, it is recommended to go to the hospital for a comprehensive examination. |
