Is vulvar itching serious?

Vulvar itching is indeed a serious problem, because some women are prone to recurring vulvar itching after severe itching, and it is difficult to cure. If a pregnant woman suffers from vulvar itching, the possibility of miscarriage is relatively high. Furthermore, if the infection continues to spread deeply, it may even affect the fetus and cause fetal disease. Also, vulvar itching may not seem like a big problem, but over time it will affect the relationship between couples.

Vulvar itching is mostly located in the clitoris and labia minora. It can also affect the labia majora, perineum and even perianal skin lesions. It is often paroxysmal or continuous, and usually worsens at night. Unexplained vulvar itching usually only occurs in women of childbearing age or postmenopausal women, and often affects the entire vulva, but may also be limited to a certain part or one side of the vulva. Although the itching is very severe and even unbearable, the local skin and mucous membranes appear normal, or there are only scratches due to excessive scratching.

Vaginal trichomoniasis, itching of the vulva and vagina, foamy leucorrhea, often accompanied by a special odor, and eczematous changes in the vulva after scratching. A vaginal smear test can be used to distinguish it from the above conditions. Pubic lice: Pubic lice often stick to the surface of the skin or attach to the roots of pubic hair. Pubic lice eggs are grayish white and the size of a pinhead. The bites of pubic lice and their venom and excrement can cause itching and desquamation of the skin, and may lead to eczematous changes and folliculitis.

If you have problems such as vulvar itching, you should pay attention to maintaining hygiene during menstruation, wear soft and loose underwear, and try to use cotton underwear. Do not use chemical fiber underwear. It is harmful to pay attention to hygiene during menstruation, wash your hands and take a bath frequently, do not use some douching liquid to clean the vagina during menstruation, and do not eat irritating foods, such as not drinking, smoking, or eating chili peppers.
