There are several types of hydatidiform mole

Hydatidiform mole is a common gynecological disease and is very harmful to women after it occurs. For example, some patients with hydatidiform mole will experience severe vomiting. In the late stage of the disease, they may have high blood pressure, edema, or proteinuria. Some patients with hydatidiform mole are often difficult to be diagnosed through B-ultrasound examination in the early stages. At this time, B-ultrasound monitoring is needed. Once hydatidiform mole is confirmed, timely treatment should be given.

It is believed that the occurrence of hydatidiform mole is related to the imperfect or declining ovarian function, so it is more common in women under 20 years old and over 40 years old. Animal experiments have shown that removing the ovaries in early pregnancy can cause vesicular changes in the placenta, so it is believed that estrogen deficiency may be the cause of hydatidiform mole. Racial differences in the incidence of hydatidiform mole have been noted. It has been reported that the incidence of hydatidiform mole in black women in the United States is only half that of other women. In Singapore, the incidence of hydatidiform mole in Eurasians is twice as high as that in Chinese, Indians and Malaysians.

Complete hydatidiform mole: all the placental villi are affected, there is no fetus and its appendages, and the uterine cavity is filled with blisters; partial hydatidiform mole: only part of the placental villi undergo blister-like degeneration, and there are still living or dead embryos in the uterine cavity. In the tissues of spontaneous abortion, 40% of patients were found to have certain vesicular degeneration, but they were not diagnosed as hydatidiform mole. Because hydatidiform mole occurs in the trophoblast of the fertilized egg, amenorrhea usually lasts for 2 to 3 months or longer.

A considerable number of patients with hydatidiform mole will experience hemoptysis or blood in their sputum. Some patients will suffer from repeated infections and may develop anemia due to bleeding. They may further experience dizziness, abdominal pain, and may also form a mass in the abdomen. Although hydatidiform mole is common, it is very harmful and must be checked and treated in time.
