What are the effects of drinking on women?

In our real life, more and more women are drinking alcohol, and drinking at the dinner table is no longer a man's world. People often say that drinking wine can beautify the skin, making it delicate and radiant. In fact, this makes sense, but this is also the effect of drinking small amounts of alcohol. Once the appropriate amount is exceeded and once drinking is excessive, considering one's own physical condition, what are the effects of drinking on women? Let’s find out together.

1. Women who often drink alcohol affect the next generation

Drinking a small amount of alcohol is good for the body, but some young women also drink a lot during social activities, which is very harmful to women's health. Because alcohol is toxic to eggs, the eggs will be poisoned by alcohol. The fetus that develops from this fertilized egg has slow growth and brain damage, and both its physical and intellectual development are affected after birth.

2. Drinking during menstruation is more dangerous

When drinking, women are half as likely to suffer liver damage and alcohol poisoning as men, which means women are more susceptible to the harm of alcohol. Basically, women have fewer enzymes involved in alcohol metabolism in their bodies, so they are less able to break down acetaldehyde. Estrogen has a certain inhibitory effect on alcohol dehydrogenase. When the level of estrogen increases, the activity of alcohol dehydrogenase decreases, and the ability to decompose alcohol is weakened, thereby maintaining a higher concentration of alcohol in the body. Before menstruation, the secretion of alcohol-degrading enzymes decreases due to the influence of female hormone secretion. Therefore, the rate of alcohol decomposition decreases, resulting in the alcohol not being excreted but turning into acidic substances. To neutralize these substances, the liver has to continuously produce enzymes, which eventually increases the possibility of causing liver dysfunction.

With the improvement of material living standards, people have paid more attention to changes in lifestyle, and drinking has become an indispensable part of life. Not only men, but now more and more women are joining the drinking army. However, women should still be more careful about the effects of drinking, especially during menstruation, and should never drink. In daily life, we should also pay more attention to the amount of alcohol we drink based on our physical condition. Taking care of our body is the top priority.
