What causes ectopic pregnancy?

I believe that for a family, children can bring more laughter to the home, and they are also the best bond between husband and wife. Therefore, for many couples, it is very important to give birth to a healthy and smart baby. However, due to some special reasons, many women have already shown symptoms of ectopic pregnancy. So what are the causes of ectopic pregnancy? In the face of this question, let me take a look at the following content with you.

So why do some people develop ectopic pregnancy? What are the causes of ectopic pregnancy? Let's take a look at the causes that can lead to ectopic pregnancy.

1. Abnormal fallopian tube

Statistics show that approximately 1% of all pregnancies are ectopic pregnancies, 97% of which occur in the fallopian tubes, and the remaining approximately 3% occur outside the fallopian tubes. The biggest and most important cause of ectopic pregnancy is fallopian tube abnormalities, and the main causes of fallopian tube abnormalities are as follows.

Fallopian tube inflammation

There are many villi inside the fallopian tube, which are responsible for transporting the fertilized egg to the uterus. If these villi do not function properly, there is a high possibility of ectopic pregnancy.

Fallopian tube inflammation can be divided into fallopian tube mucositis and fallopian tube peri-inflammation, both of which are common causes of fallopian tube pregnancy. Mild tubal mucositis causes the fallopian tube lumen to narrow, and the fertilized egg is blocked in its journey, so it stops and develops in the area, resulting in an ectopic pregnancy. If tubal mucositis is severe, it can cause complete blockage of the fallopian tubes and lead to infertility.

Infection after miscarriage or delivery can easily cause perisalpingitis. The lesions of perisalpingitis are mainly in the serosa or seromuscular layer of the fallopian tube, which can affect the movement of the fertilized egg by causing adhesions around the fallopian tube, twisting of the fallopian tube, narrowing of the lumen, and weakening of the peristalsis of the tube wall muscles.

Fallopian tube surgery

After tubal sterilization, tubal separation and adhesion surgery or tuboplasty, scar tissue or tubal fistula is formed, causing the fertilized egg to implant in an abnormal place.

Fallopian tube dysplasia or dysfunction

Tubal dysplasia is often manifested as an overly long fallopian tube, poorly developed muscular layer, and lack of mucociliary tissue. Other causes include double fallopian tubes, diverticula or accessory fimbria, which can all be causes of fallopian tube pregnancy. Fallopian tube function is regulated by estrogen and progesterone. If the secretion of estrogen and progesterone is abnormal, it may affect the normal operation of the fertilized egg. In addition, mental factors can also cause fallopian tube spasms and abnormal peristalsis, interfering with the transportation of fertilized eggs.

The above paragraphs give us a good introduction to the causes that may lead to ectopic pregnancy. I sincerely hope that all friends can read the above content carefully so that they can pay more attention and be more vigilant to these causes in their daily lives. Of course, what I want to tell you is that only a healthy mother can give birth to a healthy baby, so mothers need to be prepared for pregnancy.
