What is maternal confinement disease

Postpartum women are a relatively special group, because women who have just given birth not only have a worse complexion than before, but also become weaker in physical health. So what are postpartum diseases? It is mainly a disease caused by people's confinement, and these diseases are somewhat difficult to treat. Next, let us understand what postpartum disease is?

Puerperal fever

If a new mother develops a fever after giving birth, usually between 24 hours and 10 days after delivery, it is called puerperal fever. If puerperal fever is seriously infected, it will affect the health of the new mother and even endanger her life.

Precautions:

Get more rest: New mothers must ensure adequate rest. If they cannot bear it physically, they should hand over the task of taking care of the baby to their family members so that they can recover their strength as soon as possible.

Drink plenty of water: Replenishing water is very important for new mothers who have developed puerperal fever or have difficulty urinating. It is best to drink about 2000ml of water every day.

Cleanliness and hygiene: Postpartum lochia will last for a while. New mothers should change sanitary pads and underwear frequently, especially new mothers with perineal wounds. It is best to rinse the perineum with warm water after going to the toilet to reduce the occurrence of infection.

Dry wound: New mothers who have undergone cesarean section can wipe their bodies with a hot towel at first, and wait 7-10 days after delivery to take a bath to reduce the possibility of wound inflammation. Make sure the wound is dry and clean.

Moderate nutrition: New mothers can enhance their resistance while breastfeeding and recovering their strength after delivery, so they should strengthen nutritional supplements, but not overdo it, especially for mothers suffering from puerperal fever, the diet should be lighter and avoid greasy food.

Don't rush to get intimate: Postpartum sex can easily cause harm to the new mother's body. Generally, sexual life can be resumed only after the postpartum follow-up visit, if the doctor confirms that the body has recovered.

Uterine prolapse

Some mothers may feel a sinking lower abdomen or back pain after giving birth. This is because the uterine ligaments and pelvic floor muscles become loose after delivery, causing the position of the uterus to change. The uterus moves downward along the vagina, causing uterine prolapse.

Precautions:

Don’t stand for long periods of time: New mothers should get enough rest and change their lying positions more often when in bed. Do not stand for a long time after getting out of bed, try to avoid squatting, ask your family for help in lifting heavy objects, and do not run or walk long distances too early. New mothers should not rush to restore their body shape by using strong abdominal belts or performing high-intensity body exercises too early.

Be careful about constipation: Eat more foods containing fiber and develop the habit of regular bowel movements, because constipation or chronic cough can increase abdominal pressure.

There are many types of postpartum diseases for postpartum women. No matter what kind of postpartum disease it is, once it is contracted, it will have a very serious impact on people's bodies. Although confinement is very important for most women, there are also many issues to pay attention to during the confinement process. You cannot contract various diseases because of confinement, as this will have a bad result.
