Do I need to fast for a gynecological examination?

Because there are more and more gynecological diseases nowadays, and the age of onset of many gynecological diseases is tending to be younger, this will cause many female friends to develop gynecological diseases without paying attention, and gynecological diseases are very difficult to cure, because the condition is very complicated, this will make it impossible for many female friends to get rid of the troubles of gynecological diseases, so they must go to the hospital regularly for relevant gynecological examinations, because a gynecological examination can know your physical condition intuitively, but is it necessary to fast for a gynecological examination?

Whether fasting is required depends on the reason why the patient is having the ultrasound. Some gynecological ultrasounds require fasting, such as when detecting deep organs that are easily disturbed by gas in the digestive tract, fasting examination or more rigorous intestinal preparation is required. Although some B-ultrasounds do not require fasting, you do need to hold your urine, so it is best for female friends not to empty their stomach when doing gynecological B-ultrasounds.

It is also recommended to take a rest and observe whether the secretions are normal. It is generally recommended to check 3 to 5 days after the menstrual period is over for a more accurate result. Just observe whether the menstrual period is normal.

1. Routine gynecological examination, generally an examination of the vulva.

2. Vaginal examination, mainly related examination of secretions.

3. Cervical examination is mainly performed using a digital colposcope.

4. Examination of the uterus and its appendages, mainly abdominal ultrasound examination, requires holding urine before the examination.

From the above, we can see that the main gynecological examinations, except for the gynecological secretion examination, all other examinations are only diagnoses of appearance and morphology. However, the results of gynecological secretion examination will not change due to eating. Therefore, fasting is not required for gynecological examinations.

Whether or not you need to fast for a gynecological examination depends on the examination you are doing. If it is a routine B-ultrasound examination, you must fast because it will interfere with the results of the examination, especially when examining deep organs. However, you do not need to fast for other gynecological examinations, as you only need to observe the external appearance of your body to make a judgment.
