Arm contraceptive implant

Arm contraceptive implant

Unexpected pregnancy and abortion can cause great harm to women's health, so if you want to avoid this kind of harm, you need to take contraceptive measures in your daily life. There are many contraceptive methods in daily life, but there is a contraceptive method of subcutaneous implantation in the arm, which is a very popular contraceptive method. However, not many people know about this contraceptive method. So how about the arm implant contraceptive method?

The newest contraceptive method is the subcutaneous implant in the arm, which is now being promoted and used throughout the world. This contraceptive method is to put a certain dose of progesterone in a silicon capsule tube, and then bury the tube under the skin, so that it slowly releases a small amount of progesterone, thereby playing a contraceptive role.

Subcutaneous contraceptive implants achieve the purpose of contraception by changing the viscosity of cervical mucus, preventing sperm from entering the uterine cavity; inhibiting the growth of the endometrium, which is not conducive to the implantation of the fertilized egg; and inhibiting ovarian ovulation.

When to use contraceptive implant under the arm

If you want to use subcutaneous implants for contraception, you should know that this operation is usually performed within 7 days of the onset of menstruation or at the same time as an abortion. The operation is simple. A small incision is made on the inside of the upper arm of the contraceptive user. Six silicon capsule tubes are pushed into the subcutaneous tissue (arranged in a fan shape) through the incision using a special trocar. The operation is then completed. The incision does not need to be sutured and the entire operation can be completed in a few minutes. The latest implants only require single implantation.

How about the contraceptive method of subcutaneous implant in the arm? This contraceptive measure is very effective, and the operation is simple, and it can achieve a very good contraceptive effect. This operation is usually performed seven days after the onset of menstruation. It is recommended that women go to a regular hospital for this operation. Before the operation, you should understand clearly what precautions to take.

Subdermal contraceptive implants have the following advantages:

1. The contraceptive effect is good, and the contraceptive efficiency is over 99%.

2. The contraceptive effect is long-lasting, and one implant can provide contraception for 5 years.

3. The drug reaction is small. This contraceptive contains only progestin and no estrogen, so the side effects are smaller than oral contraceptives.

4. It is reversible, and fertility can be restored quickly after the silicone capsule tube is removed.

Subcutaneous implants have the following disadvantages:

Because it is a large dose of progesterone, it may cause hormonal instability in the body. It will fluctuate with the hormone levels in our body, leading to some breakthrough bleeding, irregular menstrual bleeding, and some may even cause amenorrhea. However, once the sustained-release capsule is removed, menstruation will resume quickly and return to normal in about two or three months.

Subcutaneous contraceptive implants are suitable for breastfeeding mothers. However, some experts believe that artificial progesterone may also affect the baby's sexual development and is not recommended for breastfeeding mothers. In addition, people with chronic diseases such as hepatitis, nephritis, tuberculosis, those who have had jaundice and pruritus during previous pregnancy, those with precancerous lesions of the breast and reproductive organs, those with endocrine disorders, diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and those with undiagnosed irregular vaginal bleeding are not suitable for this contraceptive method.
