(3) Treatment of liver qi evil stagnation: Soothe the liver and regulate qi, clear away heat and nourish yin. Prescription: 12 grams each of bupleurum, atractylodes, poria, red and white peony roots, 9 grams each of angelica, moutan bark, and curcuma, 6 grams each of chuanxiong, tangerine peel, licorice, and mint (added later). Add or subtract: If the patient has bitter taste in the mouth and irritability, add Scutellaria baicalensis, Gardenia jasminoides, and Gentiana scabra; if the tongue is cyanotic with ecchymosis, add Prunus persica and Safflower. Usage: Take 1 dose daily, decocted in water and taken in 2 doses.
