Why do my nipples become enlarged and painful?

What girls fear most is gynecological diseases. If they don't pay attention, they will get gynecological diseases. So they will be very anxious if something goes wrong. Among all the small accidents, I think the most common one is the nipple problem, because many times the nipples will inexplicably become larger and more painful, but we can't find any reason. What is going on?

Some patients with breast pain, because they cannot find the cause of the disease, think they have "breast cancer". In fact, there are many reasons for breast pain. Temporary breast pain caused by physiological changes in women at different times is medically called "physiological breast pain". Several common types are introduced below:

1. Breast pain during adolescence: The earliest breast pain in girls usually occurs between the ages of 9 and 13. At this time, girls' breasts begin to develop, with the nipples first bulging and a slight feeling of pain. After menarche, it will disappear on its own as the breasts mature during puberty.

2. Premenstrual breast pain: Many women experience fullness, hardness, and tenderness in the breasts during menstruation. In severe cases, the breasts may become swollen and painful even with a slight vibration or collision, and the original granules or nodules may become more obvious. This is caused by increased estrogen levels in the body before menstruation, breast hyperplasia, and edema of the breast interstitial tissue.

After the menstrual period, the above changes disappear. In the early stages of pregnancy, the breasts gradually swell and become very soft; the areola becomes larger and the color becomes darker due to increased pigmentation; then, the blood vessels under the skin of the breasts become noticeably prominent, and venous dilation is visible; the nipples also become noticeably prominent. In fact, these are all normal physiological phenomena in early pregnancy. However, enlarged nipples do not necessarily mean that you have been pregnant.

I don’t know if you have ever encountered this situation. After reading the above content, you should have more or less understood it. Don’t be anxious when this situation occurs in the future. You should calm down and find the cause of the problem. As long as we find the key to the problem, we can solve it easily.
