What happens if a woman does not bleed during her menstrual period?

Generally, mature women will have their periods, so people are used to monthly periods. If the period does not come when it should, or comes when it should not, these are reminders for people to pay attention. The body has sent a warning to people and they need to see a doctor in time to find out the cause. So, if women bleed during their non-menstrual period, what is the cause?

1. Ovulation bleeding. Some women experience bleeding between menstrual periods, which is called ovulation bleeding. Ovulation bleeding usually occurs about two weeks before the next menstrual period. The bleeding time can be as short as a few hours or as long as a day or two. This type of bleeding is usually in small amounts, and usually only the leucorrhea turns red, so it is also called "seeing blood." A small number of women experience ovulation bleeding as well as ovulation abdominal pain.

2. Bleeding after IUD insertion. Among the many contraceptive methods currently in use, IUDs and oral contraceptive pills are the two most popular methods. However, some people experience vaginal bleeding after having an IUD inserted. There are three main reasons for this: (1) The IUD compresses the endometrium and causes it to become congested, edematous, and necrotic, forming ulcers and resulting in bleeding. (2) The IUD can increase the activity of fibrinolytic enzymes, making fibrin easier to dissolve, thereby hindering blood coagulation and causing bleeding. (3) After the IUD is inserted, the level of prostaglandins in the body will increase. Prostaglandins can inhibit platelet aggregation, dilate blood vessels, and increase the permeability of blood vessel walls, which can result in increased bleeding.

3. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding. This is a relatively common gynecological disease. If menstruation is irregular and examination shows no pregnancy, tumor, inflammation, trauma or systemic bleeding disease, it may be dysfunctional uterine bleeding (abbreviated as "dysfunctional uterine bleeding") caused by endocrine disorders.

If bleeding occurs outside of the menstrual period, it is considered an abnormal situation, except that it may be ovulation bleeding, so you must pay attention to it. You should go to the hospital for examination in time. After determining the cause, you should receive timely symptomatic treatment. Never take it lightly or avoid medical treatment, so as not to aggravate the condition.
