What are the side effects of taking birth control pills?

Nowadays, there are more and more unmarried people living together, and contraception has naturally become more and more common. Since contraceptive pills are convenient and effective, taking regular contraceptive pills for a long time has become one of the most common contraceptive methods. However, I believe everyone knows that taking contraceptive pills is very harmful to women's bodies, but they don't know much about the specific effects, which will cause many people to be in misunderstandings.

(1) Pregnancy-like reactions, such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, and drowsiness. Mild reactions do not require treatment and generally disappear on their own after three months. The time of taking the medicine can be changed, such as taking it before bedtime. For more severe reactions, vitamin B6 or antiemetics, as well as strong tea, soaked ginger, etc. can be taken.

(2) Vaginal bleeding during medication. This situation is more common when you miss taking contraceptive pills. If you can take the pills on time and not miss them, you can avoid or reduce vaginal bleeding.

(3) Decreased menstrual flow or amenorrhea. If menstruation still does not occur after stopping the medication for 7 days, after excluding amenorrhea caused by pregnancy and other diseases, the next cycle of contraceptive pills should be taken from the 8th day; if amenorrhea persists for more than 3 months, the medication should be stopped and other contraceptive measures should be used.

(4) For a very small number of women with facial pigmentation, they can take vitamin B complex and vitamin C, and use other contraceptive measures if necessary.

(5) A small number of women experience a slight increase in weight after taking the medication. They can continue to take the medication and increase physical exercise. If there is a significant increase in weight, the medication should be stopped and other contraceptive measures should be used.

(6) Early pregnancy reactions. If the reaction is severe, you can set the time of taking the medicine after lunch, or take contraceptive reaction suppression tablets at the same time in each cycle, 1 tablet each time, 1-2 times a day, for a total of 1-2 days.

(7) Shortened menstrual cycle. You can take 1-2 short-acting contraceptive pills every day 4-5 days before each menstrual period for 5 consecutive days to prolong the menstrual period.

In short, although we understand the side effects of long-term use of birth control pills, the key should be to eliminate the side effects as much as possible. It is best to take as few birth control pills as possible in normal times. Taking too much may affect the health of the baby in the future. Planned family planning can make the family more harmonious, especially for women, they should take better care of their bodies.
