What causes women to have excessive body hair?

Generally speaking, women have much less body hair than men, but some female friends still feel distressed because of excessive body hair. Even if they can use some methods to remove body hair, each removal will cause them some trouble. So what is the reason why women have excessive body hair? Only by figuring out the reasons that lead to excessive body hair can we find ways to take corresponding protective measures to avoid the increase of body hair.

Congenital causes, congenital systemic hypertrichosis, which people usually call "hairy man", is a "reversion to the ancestral" phenomenon, often with family factors, caused by autosomal abnormalities, and has a tendency to be inherited from generation to generation. Acquired causes of excessive body hair: increased androgen in women's bodies due to various reasons, or an imbalance in the ratio of estrogen and androgen, which causes excessive hair growth.

The most common ovarian lesion is bilateral polycystic ovary syndrome. It is mainly caused by the hypothalamus's regulatory disorder of pituitary function, or the lack of certain enzymes in the ovaries themselves. When suffering from this disease, in addition to not ovulating, 70% of patients have excessive hair on the lips, areola, forearms, calves, etc. Ovarian tumors may also appear hirsutistic.

Irrational use of medications, such as excessive use of corticosteroids, androgens, nandrolone phenylpropionate, etc., can also cause hirsutism. Pituitary lesions, such as the pituitary gland secreting various gonadotropins, play an important coordinating role in various hormones in the body. When there are lesions in the pituitary gland, such as acromegaly, pituitary tumors, etc., they can lead to hirsutism.

For the vast majority of girls, excessive hair growth is not pathological, and it has no impact on their health or fertility after marriage. If you want to temporarily remove or reduce local hair, you can use a depilatory agent, such as depilatory cream, under the guidance of a doctor, but it can only remove hair temporarily and cannot cure the problem. Some people worry that using depilatory agents will make hair grow thicker. Actually, no.

Because the thickness and amount of hair is mainly determined by the amount of male hormones, it has nothing to do with the use of depilatory agents. With the development of new technologies, laser technology is now also used in hair removal, but it needs to be performed by a doctor in the dermatology department of a regular hospital. Laser hair removal can achieve the goal of permanent hair removal.

I believe everyone knows the reasons why women have excessive body hair. It can be said that the amount of body hair is indeed affected by some factors, such as excessive secretion of male hormones, the effects of drugs or other reasons. We need to face them calmly, be vigilant and strengthen prevention so as not to let troubles arise.
