Why do women have leucorrhea?

Leucorrhea is a substance that appears in women after their second development in their lives. Whether the leucorrhea is normal has a very obvious reflection on women's health. Normal leucorrhea is colorless and odorless. If the leucorrhea is abnormal, it means that women's health has been seriously challenged. Therefore, it is very important for women to pay attention to leucorrhea. However, sometimes, leucorrhea will have a certain impact on people's hygiene. So do you know why women have leucorrhea?

As soon as women enter puberty, their ovaries begin to work, secrete female hormones, and ovulate periodically. As long as there is cyclical secretion of female hormones, the female reproductive system will respond accordingly. A normal reaction may be manifested by the appearance of cellular exudate in the vaginal mucosa and fluid secretion from the cervical canal. Of course, the endometrium will secrete fluid, which mixes into the vagina to form a white or clear liquid that is discharged. This is a normal reaction for women. This liquid is called leucorrhea, or vaginal secretions.

The leucorrhea of healthy women has four major physiological functions: one is to moisten the vagina to prevent it from being dry; the second is to excrete waste, such as the shed epithelium in the vagina, which is discharged from the body with the leucorrhea to prevent these substances from staying in the body and affecting health; the third is to kill and inhibit pathogens. The lactic acid contained in leucorrhea has a strong bactericidal ability and becomes a barrier to prevent pathogens from invading the vagina and uterus; the fourth is to be a catalyst for sex. With it, the pleasure of couples' sexual life can be enhanced.

The formation of normal leucorrhea (physiological leucorrhea) in women is related to the action of estrogen. Therefore, when women enter puberty, due to the development of the ovaries and the secretion of estrogen, leucorrhea will be discharged from the vagina. Leucorrhea is white, paste-like or egg white-like. It is an odorless, non-irritating, slightly acidic, viscous substance. The amount of vaginal discharge is generally not large and usually does not leave stains on the underwear that is changed daily.

Why do women have leucorrhea? After reading the introduction above, I believe everyone has a certain understanding of this issue. We also know that in our lives, leucorrhea is very important for women. It is an important sign of whether a woman’s body is healthy. Therefore, if you have too much leucorrhea, or the color and smell have changed, you should go to the hospital for examination in time, and pay attention to the hygiene of your private parts so that you can better protect yourself.
