Zhao Zhigang said that infectious fever is one of the manifestations of the body's immune system clearing the source of infection. Unless the fever is high and the patient is seriously unwell, antipyretic drugs should not be used in a hurry. Patients with high fever must be cooled down, and the antipyretic drugs that can be selected include acetaminophen and ibuprofen.

Zhao Zhigang reminded that you only need to choose one antipyretic. " Many cold medicines are compound preparations and contain acetaminophen . You should read the instructions carefully when using them to avoid repeated or excessive use of the medicine, which may cause liver damage." Do not use acetaminophen more than four times a day .

Zhao Zhigang also reminded that antipyretic drugs should not be taken for a long time and should not be used for more than 3 days.

For those who are infected or have low immunity, they can take some Chinese patent medicines according to their different physical conditions.

For example, Jinhua Qinggan Granules, Lianhua Qingwen Capsules, Shufeng Jiedu Capsules, etc.

Zhao Zhigang said that when taking Chinese patent medicine, we should also be careful not to overlap the drugs and try to choose only one symptomatic drug to prevent damage to the liver, kidney function or digestive system. In addition, cold medicine should also be taken for a long time and should not be taken continuously for more than one week.

Warm reminder: Lianhua Qingwen Capsule and other Chinese patent medicines contain ephedra, which has the effects of sweating and dispelling cold (cooling), promoting lung function and relieving asthma, promoting diuresis and reducing swelling. Taking Lianhua Qingwen and other Chinese patent medicines also has a cooling effect. Unless the patient has a high fever and is seriously unwell, do not rush to use antipyretic and analgesic drugs such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen.
