What should I do if I have anal pain during pregnancy?

Pregnant women are very careful and attentive during pregnancy, trying their best not to get sick, but some diseases will still plague them. Some pregnant women will experience toothaches during pregnancy and are afraid to take medicine. In severe cases, half of their face will swell. Recently, I heard that some pregnant women experienced anal swelling and pain during pregnancy and they didn’t know what to do and were very troubled. Now, the editor will take you to find out what methods are there to treat anal pain in pregnant women.

It may be caused by hemorrhoids. Since it happens during pregnancy, treatment should be carried out under the guidance of a doctor. It is recommended to go to a regular hospital for relevant examinations to make a clear diagnosis. If confirmed, injection treatment, cryotherapy and physical therapy can be adopted. Severe cases can be treated with surgery, including ligation, rubber band ligation, hemorrhoidectomy, etc. You should avoid eating irritating foods such as tobacco, alcohol, and spicy foods, and eat more vegetables and whole grains rich in fiber.

Anal swelling is a manifestation of hemorrhoids, and it does not rule out the possibility of anal fissure, perianal cyst, and proctitis.

Hemorrhoids during pregnancy refer to the soft venous masses formed by the expansion and bending of the venous plexus under the mucosa of the terminal rectum and the skin of the anal canal of pregnant women. Pregnant women are a high-risk group for hemorrhoids. Its occurrence is related to the increased blood flow in the pelvic arteries during pregnancy, as well as the enlarged uterus and increased abdominal pressure that compress the pelvic cavity, causing compression of the nevus veins and poor blood flow back. The main clinical manifestations include bleeding during bowel movements or prolapse of hemorrhoids. In severe cases, there is anal distension and anemia.

Conservative treatment methods include:

1. Do not eat spicy or irritating foods, eat less indigestible foods, and eat more foods containing fiber.

2. Fumigation and sitting bath, twice a day after defecation or in the morning and evening, fumigate and wash the affected area while it is still hot, each time for 15 to 20 minutes. You can apply medicine after defecation and sitting bath.

3. Reduce the time of standing or sitting for a long time to make blood circulation smoother.

4. Pregnant women can also do some exercises to promote local blood circulation in the anus: contract the anus on your own for 1 minute, relax and then contract again, for 3 consecutive times, 3 to 7 times a day.

The reason for anal swelling and pain in pregnant women is most likely hemorrhoids. Pregnant women cannot use medications. What everyone is most worried about is that the medications will have a certain negative effect on the fetus in the womb. If it is confirmed to be hemorrhoids, it is best to adopt conservative treatment methods, mainly avoiding spicy food, drinking plenty of water every day, and not sitting for long periods of time.
