Long menstrual period

Long menstrual period

The physical health status of female friends can be seen through menstruation. If the menstruation is abnormal, it is likely caused by endocrine disorders or some inflammation. If the menstruation duration is relatively long, it is also sending you a disease signal. Therefore, if your menstrual period is irregular, the best solution is to check your physical health to see if you have any disease.

Generally, the normal menstrual period for women is about one week, and some may be 5 days. Basically, in the first two days of menstruation, the amount of menstruation is relatively large and abdominal pain is likely to occur. In the following few days, the amount of menstruation gradually decreases until it disappears. If the duration exceeds one week, you need to pay attention.

1. Uterine dysfunction

Dysfunctional uterine bleeding is one of the reasons for prolonged menstruation in women. For example, anovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding and irregular endometrial shedding are both caused by endocrine dysfunction, which leads to prolonged menstruation.

2. Pelvic inflammatory disease and endometritis

Pelvic inflammatory disease or endometritis can cause women to have problems such as poor endometrial blood circulation, degeneration and necrosis, or pelvic congestion, which may lead to prolonged menstruation.

3. Uterine fibroids

Uterine fibroids in women, especially submucosal fibroids, can cause the area of the uterus to increase and cause abnormal contraction, which may lead to prolonged menstruation.

4. Endometriosis

Endometriosis may also affect the contraction of the uterine muscle layer or cause the endometrium to strengthen, which may cause patients to have prolonged menstrual periods.

5. Blood diseases

For example, thrombocytopenic purpura, aplastic anemia, etc., cause women to have prolonged menstruation due to coagulation disorders during menstruation.

6. Systemic diseases

Systemic diseases such as chronic anemia, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, nephritis, etc. can cause women to have problems such as fragile uterine walls and increased permeability, which can lead to prolonged menstruation.

The above factors may cause prolonged menstruation, but no matter what the factor is, it is very worthy of our attention. However, some women have genetic factors, and the time since the start of menstruation is longer than normal people. In this case, no treatment is needed. I hope you can make a judgment based on your own situation.
