Is it normal to have withdrawal bleeding for 10 days?

It is definitely abnormal to have withdrawal bleeding for 10 days. Under normal circumstances, withdrawal bleeding will stop on its own in three to five days. This is mostly because the patient has taken some emergency contraceptives, such as birth control pills or short-term birth control pills, which causes the uterine wall to lose hormone protection and thus cause bleeding.

If the bleeding lasts for a long time, reaching ten days, in this case, it means that there is a problem with the uterus or pelvis, or it means that there is a problem with the endocrine system of the female body. Because when there are uterine polyps, uterine fibroids, or endocrine and nervous system disorders, corpus luteum function is not good and these symptoms will appear.

Vaginal bleeding usually occurs within one week after stopping the medication, which is medically called withdrawal bleeding, but it may be longer in some patients. The longer the amenorrhea lasts, the more withdrawal bleeding there is.

After taking emergency contraception: Bleeding after taking birth control pills is a common condition, which is often called withdrawal bleeding in clinical medicine. In fact, this type of bleeding cannot generally be considered as menarche. Several situations of bleeding after taking birth control pills: Pregnant women take special birth control pills at different times of the menstrual cycle, and the effects on the menstrual period will also be different. If taken within the first half of the menstrual cycle, it may have a great impact on women's menstrual period and vaginal bleeding may occur; if taken within the first half of the menstrual cycle, it will have less impact on women's menstrual period. Instead of having bleeding similar to normal menstrual flow, you can treat it as a menstrual period and take basic contraceptive measures immediately after the bleeding stops. If the bleeding is very little, you don't need to do anything, but you still need to pay attention to contraceptive measures until the next menarche.
