What causes postpartum heart failure?

From the moment of pregnancy, a woman will undergo many changes both psychologically and physiologically. Psychologically, you will feel joy or distress because of the baby, and your body will become bloated during pregnancy, which is a test and challenge for every woman. Postpartum heart failure is a problem faced by many women. Severe cases can cause problems in more aspects of the body. If the situation is not serious, you can follow the doctor's steps step by step, and it will always be cured. So what are the causes of postpartum heart failure? Let’s find out together.

Throughout the pregnancy process, a woman's body undergoes a series of changes and requires close monitoring and care. Pregnant women are at risk of developing postpartum heart failure even after giving birth. So, how does postpartum heart failure occur?

The important causes of death in pregnant women with heart disease are heart failure and severe infection. Pregnant women with heart disease may develop heart failure during 32-34 weeks of pregnancy, during delivery and within three days after delivery due to increased burden on the heart.

The delivery period is the stage when maternal hemodynamic changes are most obvious, and the body's energy and oxygen consumption increase, making it the period when the maternal heart is most burdened. Within the first three days after delivery, uterine contraction and reduction cause a large amount of blood to enter the systemic circulation, and the fluid retained in the tissue gaps of the pregnant woman's body also flows back to the systemic circulation, and the systemic blood volume still increases to a certain extent; however, the changes in the cardiovascular system during pregnancy cannot immediately return to normal, and postpartum heart failure is therefore prone to occur.

Therefore, for the case of postpartum heart failure, it is necessary to detect it in time, actively treat it, provide scientific care, and make every effort to ensure the safety of mother and baby.

Master the timing of sterilization surgery. Sterilization surgery is usually performed by tubal ligation about one week after delivery. If the mother has a bad heart or heart failure, sterilization surgery can only be performed after the heart failure is under control.

Women with heart disease are of course more likely to develop heart failure during pregnancy and childbirth, so they should take precautions. In addition, there is still a risk of heart failure within 6 to 8 days after delivery, especially within 1 to 3 days after delivery, so preventive measures must be taken. Here are some tips for preventing heart failure after childbirth:

The mother must get enough rest. It is best to ask someone else to take care of your child to ensure adequate sleep and avoid fatigue. You can move your lower limbs in bed every day to help your heart function, and then get out of bed to move around after 5 to 7 days.

Don't get emotional. Other people in the family should not make the woman angry.

From this we can see that there are many reasons that lead to postpartum heart failure. Therefore, as a mother herself, you should not only maintain a happy mood at all times, but also actively face every challenge in life. As a family member of a mother, you should protect the mother herself and learn to actively guide her. After all, the mood of a mother will be affected by many people around her. As a family member, you have the obligation and responsibility to leave happiness to the mother, and leave difficulties and distress to yourself.
