What causes abdominal pain during menstruation?

Everyone knows that girls have menstruation. When they have their period, not only do they have a bad temper, but some of them also have stomach pain. Don’t take medicine blindly if you have stomach pain during menstruation, because you don’t know the reason or where the problem lies. All medicines are poisonous, and most medicines for treating menstrual abdominal pain are addictive. If you want to improve dysmenorrhea, you first need to identify the cause of the abdominal pain.

During menstruation, due to the contraction of the uterus and the discharge of menstrual blood, it is normal to have mild back pain and abdominal pain. If the pain is severe, you should consider dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea is caused by the violent contractions of the uterus caused by prostaglandins synthesized by the endometrium.

If the pain is not severe, you need to pay more attention to keeping warm during menstruation and avoid all raw, cold, indigestible and irritating foods to relieve the pain. If the pain is severe, some gynecological diseases cannot be ruled out, such as endometriosis, adenomyosis and pelvic inflammatory disease, which can also aggravate the symptoms of dysmenorrhea and require examination and diagnosis in the hospital.

Patients with dysmenorrhea should eat light and easily digestible food within 3-5 days before menstruation. You should eat food that is easy to digest and absorb, and you should not eat too much. In particular, you should avoid eating raw and cold foods, because raw and cold foods can stimulate the contraction of the uterus and fallopian tubes, thereby inducing or aggravating dysmenorrhea.

Once menstruation has started, you should avoid all raw, cold, indigestible and irritating foods, such as chili peppers, raw onions, raw garlic, pepper, strong liquor, etc. During this period, patients can eat some sour foods, such as sauerkraut, vinegar, etc. Sour foods can relieve pain. In addition, people with dysmenorrhea should keep their bowel movements regular, whether before or after menstruation. Eat more honey, bananas, celery, sweet potatoes, etc. as much as possible.

So if you have stomach pain during your period, don’t take medicine blindly. Many drugs are harmful to the body. If the pain is severe, it is recommended to go to the hospital for treatment so that the symptoms can be detected as soon as possible and the pain can be relieved. Don't wash your hair or take a bath during your period, don't touch cold water, and don't eat ice cream, as it will aggravate the pain in your stomach during menstruation.
