What should I do if there is nipple discharge during pregnancy?

During pregnancy, the body's functions will change, and the progesterone values will also be different. Some expectant mothers will have some white secretions on their nipples during pregnancy. Some people think that this is in preparation for breastfeeding the baby, but sometimes it is a bad sign and requires careful observation. What should I do about nipple secretions during pregnancy?

1. From the 8th month of pregnancy, pregnant women can perform breast and nipple massage to enhance breast blood circulation, which not only helps the mammary glands and nipples to mature, but also prevents nipple cracking caused by postpartum breastfeeding. It can also reflexively cause the pituitary gland to secrete more prolactin and oxytocin, thereby increasing postpartum lactation. The focus of prenatal preparation is nipple massage. During the 7th to 8th month of pregnancy, the nipples should be gently wiped with a small towel dipped in warm water, 10 to 20 times a day. If the nipple is sunken or flat, try to pull it out slowly. By 8 months, milk can be squeezed from the areola to the nipple. If yellow liquid is squeezed out, its composition is the same as the colostrum produced in the first 5 days after the baby is born. In this way, the milk ducts will be unobstructed and the baby will be able to suck easily after birth. If these preparations are not made before delivery, the nipples will crack when the baby sucks, and the mother will feel very painful.

2. It may be that the mammary glands are not fully unobstructed. It will be fine once the baby starts feeding. Also, the lactation now is just under the stimulation of hormones and it is not real lactation, so the amount is certainly not large. Don't worry too much, not everyone has the same amount of milk on the left and right. It is best not to squeeze the breasts at ordinary times, as excessive stimulation can cause uterine contractions and premature birth.

3. Just wipe your breasts frequently. The second thing is to wear a cotton bra to keep your breasts dry.

Pregnant mothers should pay attention to personal hygiene in their lives, wear loose clothes, avoid eating irritating foods, take a walk at ordinary times, which is beneficial to the health of the baby. It is necessary to supplement some trace elements in life and supplement some foods that are beneficial to the baby's development at the right time.
