What causes shorter menstrual periods?

Dear female friends, in our daily lives, some female friends will encounter some problems related to menstruation. For example, a friend of mine came to me for consultation recently. She said that her menstrual period had been very regular before, but it suddenly became shorter. This puzzled her and confused her for a long time. I believe this is also a problem encountered by some female friends, so let us take a look at the real reason.

The reasons for a shortened menstrual cycle include:

1. Caused by neuroendocrine dysfunction: mainly due to unstable or defective function of the lower back brain-stomach-ovary axis, which causes shortened menstrual cycle;

2. Organic lesions: gynecological diseases in women, including gynecological inflammation, tumors and other gynecological diseases, or endocrine dysfunction such as thyroid and adrenal cortex dysfunction, diabetes and other systemic diseases. Some drugs may also cause women to have a shortened menstrual cycle.

Experts point out that clinically, the causes of neuroendocrine dysfunction are as follows:

1. Poor ovarian reserve function;

2. Some women who have heavy bleeding during ovulation may also experience frequent menstruation;

3. Menopausal functional uterine bleeding: It is caused by ovarian dysfunction in women during menopause;

4. Luteal insufficiency: due to the shortening of the relatively fixed luteal phase, the menstrual cycle becomes shorter. This disease often occurs during the childbearing age.

5. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding during adolescence: Most cases of functional uterine bleeding during adolescence are due to the incomplete development of the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian function;

The above are the reasons for this situation. I believe that the majority of patients and friends have a certain understanding of it. There are many factors that lead to a shortened menstrual period, and it is a very common phenomenon if it occurs, so please don't be too nervous. But if it is too abnormal. Please go to a regular hospital for treatment in time. Finally, I would like to wish you all a speedy recovery.
