What causes acute vulvitis?

What causes acute vulvitis?

Subacute vulvitis is a very common gynecological disease. When a woman suffers from vulvitis, her private parts will experience swelling, burning pain, tingling and other symptoms. These symptoms will be aggravated when exercising, walking, cycling, and having sex. In addition, the skin in the private parts is relatively sensitive. Once the disease occurs, the patient will feel the symptoms very obviously, causing great pain to the patient. So what causes subacute vulvitis?

1. Irritant properties

When a woman's vaginal secretions are excessive, or if the secretions contain bacteria due to infection of the reproductive system, it will irritate the private parts and cause vulvitis over time. If the underwear and sanitary napkins worn by women are not comfortable, long-term friction can also cause the onset of acute vulvitis.

2. Pathogen infection

The onset of subacute vulvitis is related to the mixed infection of some diseases, such as streptococci, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and so on.

3. Dirty vulva

When women do not pay attention to vulvar hygiene, have unclean sex life, and keep the environment damp and cold for a long time, the probability of vulvar infection will increase, which will also cause acute vulvitis.

4. Other irritants

There are also some other irritations that can cause the onset of acute vulvitis. For example, the private parts of some patients with urinary impotence are soaked in urine for a long time, and the private parts of some patients with colorectal cancer are often irritated by feces, etc., which can cause acute vulvitis.

Is subacute vulvitis serious?

1. Strong discomfort

When women suffer from acute vulvitis, they will not be able to bear it as chronic gynecological infections. The itching and pain caused by acute vulvitis are obvious. If the symptoms cannot be controlled, the skin at the site of the disease will swell, and some patients will continue to develop symptoms of eczema, which may lead to ulcers and cause obvious discomfort to the patients.

2. Infection

Subacute vulvitis is contagious. If the patient has direct or indirect contact with others, the bacteria will be transmitted to others, and cross infection may occur, which is difficult to cure.

3. Malignant transformation

When the symptoms are severe and cannot be treated properly, acute vulvitis may cause other complications, and may also lead to vaginal deterioration or cancer, which will cause great pressure on patients and affect their health.
