Will the hymen of a virgin bleed on her first night?

Men all hope that their wives are virgins when they have sex for the first time, but many men think that as long as there is bleeding during intercourse, the wife is a virgin. So is this statement correct? Have you ever known about this? Are we right to make such arbitrary judgments? Now we will introduce to you whether the hymen of a virgin will bleed on her first night?

The hymen of a virgin will bleed on the first night

There is a lot of evidence that most women do not bleed during their first vaginal intercourse. Of course some people will bleed, but more than half will not: According to a survey report by Dr. Sara Patterson-Brown published in the British Medical Journal in 1998, 63% of women in the survey did not bleed during and after their first vaginal intercourse. Bleeding during intercourse can also occur in women who have had vaginal intercourse. Therefore, vaginal bleeding is not evidence of first vaginal intercourse at all. Even if a woman has had sex with 100 partners, she may still bleed during intercourse.

For women who experience vaginal bleeding during sex (whether they are virgins or not), the amount of bleeding can vary greatly because the causes of the bleeding are different. The amount of bleeding may be just spotting, or it may be as much as a menstrual period. Bleeding during sex can be attributed to damage to body tissues. The reasons for bleeding caused by physical damage during sex include the following:

(1) Vaginal intercourse before the woman is fully aroused. At this time, the vaginal opening and vagina have not yet fully relaxed or been fully moistened, and are not yet ready for sexual intercourse. If the penis is forced into the vagina at this time, women will usually feel uncomfortable and it will be difficult for them to enjoy sexual intercourse (unless they have a special preference for pain). In addition, it will tear or abrade certain epidermal tissues of the vulva, vagina or cervix, causing bleeding. In other words, if the woman did not really want to have sex but was forced into it, bleeding is likely to occur.

(2) Your partner is too rude. If he moves too roughly or uses his penis, fingers, or sex toys too urgently, without considering whether his partner is fully sexually aroused, then even if the woman is willing, she may be injured because of the rapid progress.

(3) Sexual organ infection or other diseases. For example, chlamydia infection or other sexually transmitted diseases or gynecological conditions may cause bleeding during sexual intercourse, such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, vaginitis, fungal infections, urethral polyps or cervical polyps, cervical dysplasia and even cervical cancer. Pregnant women may also sometimes experience bleeding during intercourse because the cervix becomes sensitive and fragile during pregnancy. Also, due to hormonal changes in menopausal women, the vaginal walls lose elasticity and are more susceptible to injury and bleeding.

(4) Damage to the vaginal membrane (hymen). Medical research indicates that this is a less common cause than the first three more common causes, although many people assume it is the only cause. The reason why this membrane (hymen) exists is that the process of female vagina development during the embryonic period is from the inside out. The body tissue blocking the vagina from the outside world will gradually become thinner and, depending on the degree of development, degenerate into a thin, porous membrane that fully or partially covers the area near the vaginal opening. As we age, this membrane gradually degenerates and disappears. This process varies from person to person. Some women complete it in childhood, while some women still have this membrane even in menopause - even if the woman starts sexual life very early, the holes in the membrane are large enough and the membrane is elastic and tough enough to be completely unaffected by the penis.

Well, the above is some basic introduction about whether a virgin’s hymen will bleed on her first night. Are you more skeptical after reading it? Or should we take a more positive attitude? This depends on our own understanding, but I guess most men still think that as long as we bleed during sex, we are virgins.
