What happens if the fetal membrane is not completely expelled?

After every woman becomes pregnant, in addition to having a baby in her belly, there will also be a lot of substances to protect the fetus. Only these healthy substances can ensure that the baby can grow and develop well. The fetal membrane and embryo are two of them. So what is the difference between the fetal membrane and the embryo? What happens if the fetal membrane is not completely expelled? What are the symptoms of incomplete expulsion of the fetal membrane?

What happens if the fetal membrane is not completely expelled?

The fetal membrane belongs to the attachment of the fetus. Regardless of whether it is normal delivery or miscarriage, the fetal membrane is discharged normally, but sometimes only part of the fetal membrane is discharged. If the fetal membrane is not completely expelled, the diagnosis is mainly based on B-ultrasound and clinical manifestations. B-ultrasound can detect high echoes in the uterine cavity, and a small amount of vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain. If the fetal membrane is not completely expelled, you can intervene in the following ways. First, if the B-ultrasound shows that the volume is relatively small and there is not much bleeding clinically, you can observe it temporarily and use drugs that promote uterine contraction for treatment. Common drugs include oxytocin, miso or motherwort granules. Second, if the amount of fetal membrane remaining is relatively large, it will cause significant vaginal bleeding. Or when conservative treatment is ineffective, curettage and ablation may be necessary.

Symptoms of incomplete expulsion of fetal membranes

If the fetal membrane is not completely discharged, the lochia after delivery will increase and always contain blood. The stubborn lochia after delivery may be basically cleared about two weeks after delivery, but sometimes there will be a little bleeding, generally not more than 30 days. If there is still a lot of stubborn lochia after 30 days, you need to go to the hospital for a B-ultrasound examination to see if there are any remnants of embryos and fetal membranes in the uterine cavity, that is, the white fetal membranes have not been completely discharged. According to the results of the B-ultrasound, determine what to do next. If there is only a small amount of residue, you can eat motherwort granules to promote its spontaneous excretion. If there is a lot of residue, there is blood, and there are irregular echoes in the uterine cavity, it is recommended to perform a uterine curettage in time. Long-term residues are very prone to infection.

What is the difference between fetal membrane and embryo?

The fetal membrane and the embryo are two different substances. The fetal membrane is a transparent film that wraps around the fetus. It not only protects the fetus, but also contains amniotic fluid. The embryo is the main source of nutrients for the baby in the mother's abdomen, and can also ensure that the baby is not affected by harmful substances in the mother's abdomen.

Although there are big differences between the fetal membrane and the embryo, they can both protect the baby in the belly. The embryo will be expelled from the mother's body and the fetal membrane will rupture after the pregnant woman gives birth. During pregnancy, any problems with the embryo and fetal membrane will harm the baby's physical and mental health.

However, after the baby is born, the amniotic membrane has no function, but the embryo is different. The embryo is a very precious medicinal material, and the embryo also contains very important stem cells. If they can be stored, they will have very important functions for the baby in the future and can be used to treat serious diseases. However, when storing placental stem cells, you must go to a reliable place and contact us in advance.
