What causes pain in the right shoulder blade?

1. Persistent and severe shoulder and back pain

It is often caused by a dislocated shoulder. There is a significant history of trauma.

2. Diffuse dull pain and radiating pain in the shoulder area

Diffuse dull pain and radiating pain in the shoulder area are the clinical symptoms of suprascapular nerve compression. Suprascapular nerve entrapment is one of the most common causes of shoulder pain.

3. Shoulder pain and discomfort

The pain and discomfort caused by periarthritis of the shoulder is also known as scapulohumeral periarthritis, periarthritis of shoulder dislocation, and frozen shoulder. Those with prominent shoulder dislocation function problems are also known as frozen shoulder.

4. Referred pain in the shoulder

Shoulder pain caused by internal organ diseases or sensory nerve and skin allergies is called referred pain. Symptoms appear slowly, dull pain, or discomfort, not consistent with the actual nerve movement, the area is unclear, and the pain is vague.

Common diseases

1. Frozen shoulder

Periarthritis of the shoulder is also known as peripheral arthritis of shoulder dislocation, also known as frozen shoulder and frozen shoulder. The pain gradually develops in the shoulder, especially at night, and gradually worsens. The movement of the shoulder joint is restricted and becomes increasingly severe. After reaching a certain point, it gradually subsides until it is finally completely restored to the manifestation of chronic idiopathic inflammation of the shoulder joint capsule and surrounding cruciate ligaments, tendons and bursae. Scapulohumeral periarthritis is a common clinical symptom characterized by shoulder joint pain and difficulty in movement. The disease is more common in people around 50 years old, with a slightly higher incidence in women than in men, and is common in energy workers. If it is not treated properly, it may seriously affect the function and movement of the shoulder dislocation. Shoulder dislocation may cause widespread tenderness that radiates to the neck and elbow, and may also cause varying degrees of contracture of the deltoid muscle.

2. Myofasciitis of the back

When the scapular muscles are affected, you will feel pain in the shoulder joint, mostly on one side, and usually occurs suddenly, often after an inappropriate activity or after stretching after waking up.

3. Neck and Shoulder Syndrome

The most common cause of neck and shoulder syndrome is poor sitting posture. Maintaining the same posture for a long time will tense the muscles around the neck and shoulders, which will cause soreness over time.

Common symptoms are: tightness of the neck muscles due to blood pressure; aggravation of shoulder and elbow symptoms when blood is forced to flow to the neck; unique abnormal sensations from shoulder to fingertips; numbness of upper limbs when bearing weight; slight tremors of the upper limbs may occur in some full-term cases.

Back pain is a symptom that can be common in a variety of diseases. Some symptoms are serious and need to be treated seriously, such as traumatic fractures of the lumbar spine, tuberculosis, tumors, etc.; some back pain symptoms are relatively mild, usually caused by a cold back and poor posture, so there is no need to worry too much.

In addition to back pain caused by serious diseases, back pain generally caused by cold, fatigue, poor posture and spinal degeneration must first be diagnosed and then treated with medication. Do not treat shoulder pain with shoulder treatment or back pain with back treatment without finding out the cause of the disease, and do not rashly use massage, cupping, etc. to avoid misdiagnosis and mistreatment, and miss the best treatment opportunity.
