Checklist for the entire pregnancy

Checklist for the entire pregnancy

When a woman finds out she is pregnant, she needs to go to the hospital regularly for pregnancy check-ups. Generally speaking, pregnant women with normal prenatal examination results need to go to the hospital for ten corresponding examinations. If any problems occur, the frequency of examinations will be more frequent. Many pregnant mothers are not clear about when to check and what items to check because it is their first pregnancy.

1. First pregnancy test (around 12 weeks)

Create a file: Go to the hospital at this time to create a "Pregnant Health Guide" file. The results of each prenatal check-up will be recorded in it for future reference. The main items of this examination include: measuring weight and blood pressure; doctor's consultation; B-ultrasound examination; urine test; examination of other parts of the body; blood test; examination of uterine size; and fetal nuchal translucency screening.

2. Second pregnancy test (13 to 16 weeks)

Down syndrome screening: starting from the second prenatal checkup, the basic tests that pregnant mothers must do every time thereafter include: measuring weight; measuring blood pressure; testing urine; measuring uterine height; fetal abdominal circumference; checking and observing the baby's fetal heart rate and comparing previous test reports, etc.

3. Third pregnancy test (17 to 20 weeks)

This stage mainly involves some basic routine examinations, but at this time, B-ultrasound can more accurately determine the gender of the fetus. During this stage, pregnant women should pay attention to a balanced diet to avoid gaining too much or too little weight.

4. Fourth pregnancy check-up (21 to 24 weeks)

Screening for hyperglycemia in pregnant women: Most of the hyperglycemia tests for pregnant women are done in the 24th week of pregnancy. The hospital will ask the pregnant mother to drink 50 grams of glucose water first, and then do a blood test one hour later.

5. Fifth pregnancy check-up (25 to 28 weeks)

Hepatitis B antigen, syphilis blood cell test, German measles: The most important part of this step is to draw blood from the standard mother for testing of hepatitis B, syphilis, etc. Pregnant women should pay more attention to the intake of sugar and salt in their diet.

6. Sixth pregnancy check-up (29 to 32 weeks)

Lower limb edema, the occurrence of preeclampsia, and prevention of premature birth: After 28 weeks of pregnancy, the doctor will continue to check the edema status of normal mothers. Because most cases of preeclampsia occur after 28 weeks of pregnancy, doctors usually use the standard values obtained by accurately measuring the blood pressure of pregnant women as the basis for diagnosis.

7. Seventh pregnancy test (33 to 35 weeks)

Ultrasound (B-ultrasound) examination to assess the baby's weight: After 30 weeks, pregnant women will have a pregnancy check-up every 2 weeks. At 35 weeks of pregnancy, pregnant women are advised to undergo a detailed ultrasound examination to assess the weight and growth status of the fetus at that time, and to estimate the weight of the fetus at full term.
