When do girls stop growing taller

When do girls stop growing taller

Many girls will gradually find that their height growth slows down after the age of 17 or 18, or even stops growing. However, their height increases a lot between middle school and high school, so why doesn't it grow any more? So when do girls stop growing?

So how can we tell whether we will continue to grow?

1. Check whether your height has changed significantly in the past year

If you find that your height has not changed for a year, or your data has not changed much from before,

For example: 156CM in 2015 - 157CM in 2016 or still the same height.

This proves that there are already signs of stopping growth. If you want to know in advance when you will stop growing in the future, you can also analyze your height data. The growth rate of height is an upward slash. When it slows down, it will stop growing in the near future.

2. Are your leg muscles getting stronger?

When the calf flesh becomes firmer and the slope becomes larger, it means that growth has stopped.

When the body starts to gain weight, with more and more flesh on the abdomen, arms, and thighs, it can be simply said that the body is growing horizontally instead of vertically, which also proves that it will soon stop growing.

3. Has the epiphyseal line closed long ago?

Going to the hospital to check the closure of the epiphyseal line can accurately determine whether you will continue to grow taller.

If the epiphyseal line has already closed, then growth has stopped.

If you find that the epiphyseal line is close to closing but not completely closed, then do jumping exercises frequently, maintain adequate sleep, and you can also make a final sprint.

Generally, girls who grow and develop earlier will stop increasing in height earlier, while girls who grow and develop late will stop increasing in height later. The stage when height appears to increase faster is early adolescence.

A girl's height can increase by 7 to 8 cm in the year before her menarche.

The peak growth period for boys is during the first year of puberty, around 13 to 14 years old, when their height increases by 10 to 12 centimeters.
