Can I get pregnant if I have rubella virus antibody IgG positive?

Pregnancy and childbirth are very important things in life. If the baby is healthy and smart, the whole family will be very happy. Therefore, it is very important to check the body before preparing for pregnancy. Many women have been tested positive for rubella virus. So what does a positive rubella virus antigen IgG mean?

Rubella virus has two antigens, one is IgG and the other is igm. If the test data shows that the rubella virus antigen IgG is positive, it proves that you have been infected with rubella before and have now recovered. In this case, you can safely prepare for pregnancy and it will not affect the fetus. But if the igm shows a positive type, it proves that you have been infected with rubella recently. It needs treatment and you cannot prepare for pregnancy temporarily.

However, rubella is a self-limiting disease. There is no need to worry too much. After being infected with the rubella virus, active treatment and scientific medical care can quickly cure it. However, you cannot prepare for pregnancy immediately after recovery. You need to wait for about three months until the drugs in the body are completely metabolized before you can prepare for pregnancy again.

After being infected with rubella, you need to pay attention that this type of disease is highly contagious, especially on the first day of the onset and the day before. The main route of transmission is close contact with the patient, which can be transmitted through the patient's oral and nasal secretions, and blood secretions are also key pathogens.

Rubella virus IgG positive symptoms

In the early stages of rubella virus IgG-positive symptoms, the systemic symptoms are mild. Many people may think it is a fever and a cold and do not pay attention to it. So, apart from coughing, fatigue, and loss of appetite, what other symptoms may there be? Can you understand this disease?

It takes 14 to 21 days from contact infection to the onset of symptoms of rubella. The symptoms are very mild in the first 1 to 2 days of the disease, and may include low-grade fever or mild to moderate fever, mild cough, drowsiness, loss of appetite, sore throat, red eyes and other mild upper respiratory tract symptoms. The rash usually appears 1 to 2 days after the fever. The rash starts on the face and neck and spreads to the whole body within 24 hours. The rash begins as sparse red maculopapules, and then the rash on the face and limbs may merge, similar to measles. Starting from the second day of the rash, the rash on the face and limbs may turn into small red spots like sharp needles, such as a scarlet fever-like rash.

The rash usually disappears quickly within 3 days, leaving light pigmentation. During the rash period, the body temperature no longer rises, and children often feel asymptomatic, and their diet and play are normal. Rubella is different from measles. The systemic symptoms of rubella are mild, without measles mucosal spots, and are accompanied by swollen lymph nodes behind the ears and in the neck. It should be noted that the virus can be transmitted to the fetus through the embryo and cause various congenital defects, which is called congenital rubella syndrome.
