Increased vaginal discharge indicates that you are about to give birth

Many pregnant mothers become extremely anxious and afraid to have sex when they are approaching their due date. In fact, pregnant mothers do not need to worry, because there are some signs when the pregnant woman is about to give birth. If you know these signs, you can go to the hospital immediately. Some pregnant women will have excessive vaginal discharge when they are about to give birth. Let’s discuss the detailed introduction below.

Pregnant women are about to give birth

1. Lowering of the uterine fundus

Generally, in the first birth, about 3 weeks before the birth of the pregnant woman, the uterus will begin to slowly descend. This is because the baby's presenting part is slowly descending. At this time, the expectant mother will feel that the upper abdomen is more relaxed than before, and can breathe more freely, but the lower abdomen will feel heavy and have a feeling of falling. Some expectant mothers may feel back pain and leg swelling, urination frequency is more frequent than before, and secretions have also increased.

2. The baby moves down

If this is your first pregnancy, you may feel a "falling baby" sensation in the weeks before labor begins. At this point, you may feel less discomfort in your pelvic area and notice that the pressure below your diaphragm is relieved, allowing you to breathe more easily.

3. Irregular uterine contractions

About 2 weeks before delivery, the expectant mother will feel discomfort in the lower abdomen, usually with irregular contractions at night, that is, the abdomen becomes tight and hard, but the duration is less than 30 seconds and usually disappears in the early morning. Intermittent contractions of the uterus can also cause regular abdominal pain, which occurs every 10 to 15 minutes at first, and then the intervals gradually shorten.

4. Spotting during pregnancy

During the first 24-48 hours of labor, a small amount of strong mucus will be discharged from the pregnant mother's vagina, which is commonly known as "pregnancy spotting". It is a very reliable sign of a pregnant woman's impending birth. It is because the cervical opening dilates, causing the placenta around the opening to separate from the endometrium. The capillaries rupture but a small amount of blood will appear, which mixes with the cervical mucus and is discharged.

5. Broken water

This is because the fetus descends and the presenting part ruptures the placenta, causing the amniotic fluid to be discharged. The expectant mother will suddenly feel that ice is discharged from the vagina, sometimes more, sometimes less, and it continues continuously. Delivery usually occurs within 24 hours after rupture of membranes.

6. Regular muscle cramps or back pain

It is caused by the alternation of contraction and relaxation of the uterus. This contraction becomes more severe as a woman approaches delivery. Pain is inevitable as the cervix dilates and the baby is delivered from the reproductive system. This situation only occurs when the pregnant woman is just beginning to give birth.
