How long does it usually take for a multiparous woman to give birth?

Childbirth refers specifically to the stage and process from the time the fetus leaves the mother and becomes an independent individual. The delivery process of pregnant women is divided into three stages, also known as the three delivery processes. The first stage of labor is the period of cervical dilation. The second stage of labor is the period when the baby is delivered. The third delivery process is the embryo delivery period. Childbirth is generally divided into three consecutive processes. The pain caused by uterine contractions will continue throughout the entire delivery process.

1. First stage of labor

Also known as the cervical dilation period. So it starts with regular uterine contractions that occur intermittently for 5 to 6 minutes, until the cervical opening is fully dilated to 10 cm. This process takes 11 to 12 hours for first-time mothers and 6 to 8 hours for multiparous women.

Coordination during the first stage of labor:

(1) Eliminate fear and stay calm and cheerful;

(2) Eat on time and get enough nutrients;

(3) Urinate regularly, once every 2 to 4 hours, to relieve bladder discomfort and prevent the fetal head from descending;

(4) If the fetal membrane has not ruptured, you may walk around in the delivery room with the doctor's consent;

(5) You can also do some auxiliary pain-relieving postures during uterine contractions.

2. Second stage of labor

Also known as the fetal delivery period. The cervix is fully dilated until the baby is delivered. It takes 1 to 2 hours for a first birth, and it usually takes a few minutes for an experienced mother, but it can also take nearly an hour.

The peak period of delivery for pregnant women has arrived and the baby is about to be born. The fetal head moves close to the vaginal opening, and the private parts and anus appear protruding because the fetal head presses the pelvic floor. It won't be long before you see the fetal head, which moves forward with each contraction. When the contraction subsides, it may slide slightly backwards.

3. The third stage of delivery

Also known as the embryo delivery period. It takes 5 to 15 minutes from the delivery of the fetus to the delivery of the embryo, and should not exceed 30 minutes.

After the baby is delivered, there will still be uterine contractions to promote the delivery of the embryo, but the contractions at this time are relatively painless. Next, the doctor will clean the pregnant woman's private parts. If there are cracks in the private parts, partial stitches will be made.
