What does pregnancy discharge look like?

There will definitely be many pregnancy reactions after pregnancy, but each pregnant woman's pregnancy reactions are different. Some reactions are stronger, and some are milder, but basically there will be vaginal secretions, and you will feel a lot of leucorrhea secreted, but generally the color and smell will not change much, it is still colorless and odorless leucorrhea, if the secretion is brown, it should be taken seriously.

What does discharge look like during pregnancy?

During pregnancy, the pregnant mother's private parts will secrete more secretions than usual. The moisture and viscosity of the secretions are also different from before and will be relatively viscous. So why does such a change occur during pregnancy? The reason for this is that the progesterone in the pregnant mother's body is causing trouble. As the amount of progesterone in the pregnant mother's body increases, the metabolism will become more active, resulting in increased secretions. Especially in the late pregnancy, the pregnant mother's body will increase vaginal secretions to more than usual in order to prepare for lubrication for the birth of the baby. During pregnancy, pregnant mothers should pay more attention to hygiene care during pregnancy. They should change underwear frequently. Some Chinese herbal lotions can be used for daily care, which can effectively kill bacteria, relieve itching, clear away heat and dampness. External washing is safe and healthy.

What are the abnormal situations?

1) A large amount of thin, transparent fluid flows out of the vagina: It may be difficult for pregnant mothers to determine whether it is mucus or amniotic fluid? If you have any concerns about vaginal discharge, you should go to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible.

2) The discharge is yellow-white and viscous like cheese; symptoms such as itching in the perineum and redness in the vagina may indicate Candida albicans infection, a common vaginal infection during pregnancy. Even after recovery, the chance of recurrence is still very high, especially for pregnant women with poor resistance.

3) The discharge is watery and contains bubbles: The genitals are severely itchy and the person is uncomfortable sitting or standing. Consider trichomoniasis, genital warts, etc.

4) The discharge is gray-green and has a fishy odor: It may not necessarily cause itching, but in severe cases, the genitals may become red and swollen. Consider a bacterial infection, usually an anaerobic bacterial infection. Bacteria may enter the uterine cavity along the cervix, causing inflammation of the amniotic cavity and infection of the fetus. The infection can easily induce uterine contractions and lead to premature birth.

5) The discharge is grayish white and sticky: the perineum feels itchy, and there are papillary protrusions in the vagina, perineum, and even cervix. Consider the genital warts virus. Pregnant women infected with genital warts should not give birth naturally to avoid vertical infection of the virus when the baby passes through the birth canal.

6) Brown blood streaks: Brown blood streaks that appear in early pregnancy are most likely "implantation bleeding". Generally speaking, this may occur in the 4th to 6th week from the last menstrual period. It is a normal phenomenon and there is no need to worry too much. It will generally return to normal after a day or two. However, if the amount of blood continues to increase and there is dull pain in the lower abdomen, it may be a threatened miscarriage. If there is blood in the secretions during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, or even brown bleeding, it means prenatal bleeding, which may be caused by cervical dilatation, placental abruption or placenta previa, and should be treated as soon as possible.

) The discharge is pus-like or yellow-gray and sticky like nasal mucus: It is very likely that you are infected with gonorrhea. Gonorrhea bacteria can retrograde into the uterine cavity and cause fetal infection. The risk of teratogenesis is quite high and must be treated as soon as possible.
