What are the symptoms of eczematoid carcinoma of the nipple?

Breast cancer is a common disease with a high incidence rate among women. Breast cancer includes many types. Nipple eczematoid carcinoma is a special type of breast cancer. Since the early stage of nipple eczematoid carcinoma is similar to eczema, it is easy to confuse the two. In fact, understanding the early symptoms of nipple eczematoid carcinoma can detect the disease in time and do a good job of daily prevention and treatment. The early symptoms of nipple eczematoid carcinoma are introduced below.

When women develop eczematoid breast cancer, half of the patients may experience nipple discharge or nipple itching, as well as tingling and burning sensations in the early stages of the disease. These symptoms are usually unilateral, and bilateral eczematoid breast cancer is extremely rare. The lesions can occur anywhere on the surface of the nipple when they are small, and can slowly develop into redness and swelling of the nipple, thickening and roughness of the skin. If they are not controlled in the early stages, skin erosions will appear centered on the nipple in the later stages. There may be temporary improvement after treatment with medication, but it is prone to relapse afterwards.

In the early stages of breast eczematoid carcinoma, the skin of the nipple may remain unchanged, or it may present with local redness and swelling. The area of the lesion will gradually increase, and the local lesion may appear bright red with flaky peeling, and mild erosion and exudation may also occur. Symptoms may include gray-yellow or light green scabs, granular granulation tissue under the scabs, a small amount of bloody exudate or nipple fissures. The lesions may persist for many years and then slowly expand to the surrounding area, eventually affecting the areola and surrounding skin.

Breast eczema cancer is a disease that is prone to recurrence. If not treated promptly in the early stages, severe cases can cause erosion of the entire nipple and areola area of the patient, and may even cause nipple retraction, destruction or disappearance.

The manifestations of skin invasion of eczematoid carcinoma and general breast cancer are different. Because the symptoms of eczematoid breast carcinoma are not noticed, many patients have already formed invasive cancer masses in the breast when they are first diagnosed, which makes it more difficult to treat. Therefore, female friends should pay attention to some of its early symptoms.

Extramammary eczematoid carcinoma is a special type of breast cancer, also known as Paget's disease, which mainly affects the unilateral breast. The main symptoms are nipple itching, exudation, skin ulceration, and scabs, which repeatedly fail to heal and last for a long time. A small number of patients may experience breast lumps, and 50% of patients may experience ipsilateral axillary lymph node enlargement.

Some patients may experience eczema-like symptoms outside the breast, including the armpits, around the anus, labia majora and other areas with more developed sweat glands, and may also experience itching and ulceration. Extramammary eczematoid carcinoma has a more insidious onset, a longer duration, and a higher degree of malignancy. Some patients may mistakenly think they have nipple skin eczema, which delays the treatment of the disease.
